prices in
Exeter?
Now that the extreme pressure
is off the price of oil our gasoline
outlets in Exeter should be pay-
ing attention. Feb. 14 we were
in London, where Sunoco was
selling gasoline for 78.4 cents
per litre self serve. In London
again today Petro Can was 78.4
cents per litre self serve.
Here in town our lowest
price is 83.3 cents per litre self
serve. I know the dealers are
not in business to lose money, I
also don't like to be taken to the
cleaners so the dealers can build
$75-$100,000 buildings on their
profits.
The difference from here to
London using the above location
is 4.9 cents per litre for 23 litres,
a $1.12 difference. Why can't
our dealers keep up to the sta-
tions in London or go north to
Arthur where gasoline is gener-
ally the lowest in South Western
Ontario?

WI learns interesting
background
GRAND BEND -A fun social time was held at the
Grand Bend Women's Institute February meeting.
"Name That Tune" was an activity that brought
back many memories. A lively sing -a -long of popu-
lar songs proved we still could sing with gusto! A
skit entitled "A Farmer Applies For a Marriage
License" proved how a misunderstanding can be
dangerous. Marg Desjardine had the closest birth-
day and Bertie Keyes received the biggest and best
hug from her neighbour. Several new grocery prod-
ucts from a local grocery store were discussed and
raffled. The new brands of crackers, jams, crackers
and juices were analyzed for their contents and
nutritional value. A valentine BINGO game and a
card game concluded the social time.
President Cass Lovie presided for the business
meeting and opened with several answers to suc-
cess. We succeed if we appreciate beauty, if we find
the best in others and if we leave the world a bit
better.
Several donations for the FWIO Christmas book
were received. It was noted our float created for
the Winter Carnival placed second. Conference
competition articles are to be handed in at the April
meeting.
President Cass related how WI was formed as well
as several background information tidbits.
At the March 16 meeting a druggist will speak.
Articles for the Children's Hospital will be collect-
ed at this meeting.
When you pay your annual Women's Institute fee
locally, you are automatically a member of a global
organization of women. Your opportunities for
exciting learning experiences are endless.
