(photo/Scott Nixon) Summer camps accepting staff applications By Rhoda Rhode THAMES ROAD CORRESPONDENT THAMES ROAD - Mr. Dave Williams was in charge of the sixth Sunday after Epiphany church service on Sunday morning with a good attendance. Everyone sang the Introit and Dave gave words of welcome and everyone shook hands. Dave gave the announcements and Hayden Cann lit the Christ candle. Corey Smith led in the Call to Worship responsively. Hayden Cann led in the Gathering Prayer respon- sively. Everyone sang the gathering hymn "Come and Find the Quiet Centre". Dave gave the Prayer of Hope and Confession. Everyone read the Assurance of God's Grace and Love in unison. Everyone read affirma- tion of our faith 'A New Creed' and sang the chil- dren's hymn "Small Things Count". Dave told the children a story about their five senses which was quite interest- ing. Beth Cooper, Judith Parker and Grace Pym sang "Lovest Thou Me" accompanied by the pianist Marilyn Vandenbussche. Psalm 30 was read responsively and Dave told about 2nd Kings 5:1-14. The title of his meditation was "Unexpected Ways". Joan Skinner read a Minute for Mission. Joan Anderson and Ruth Anne Osgood received the offering. Everyone sang the closing hymn "Precious Lord, Take My Hand". Dave gave the Commissioning and pro- nounced the Benediction. Everyone sang the clos- ing chorus and Dave said the blessing before everyone went down- stairs for a Poor Boy's Luncheon prepared by the finance committee. Announcements Sunday School will be held on March 5. Feb. 15 Standing com- mittee meeting at 7 p.m. followed by council meet- ing at 8:15 p.m. Feb. 19 Infant Baptism with Rev. Alun Thomas. For baptism please con- tact Dave by leaving message at church or calling at home at 229- 8200. Feb. 19 Kirkton Area: Guide and Scout Service will be held at Kirkton - Woodham Community Centre at 10:30 a.m. Lunch to follow service. Feb. 20 Annual meet- ing of the Huron -Perth UCW at Ontario St. Church, Clinton with reg- istration at 9 a.m. Lunch $6. Speaker: Margaret Hern. Feb. 26 Church School Teachers event spon- sored by Five Oaks and Hamilton and London Conference from 2:30 to 7 p.m. at Five Oaks. The event takes a different form this time and will be an intergenerational program. Deadline for registration is Feb. 17.
