Children at the Ontario EarlyYears Centre got into theValentine's spirit with a party last

children (up to six years old) to take part in games, crafts, songs and stories.All programs
are free and the Exeter centre is located in the Relouw Early Childhood Learning Centre

Valentine party Feb. 25

HENSALL - At
Hensall United Church
service began with
welcome and
announcements and
the Passing of the
Peace. The organist
was Bill Gibson.
Lucielle Beer was the
greeter. The ushers
were Glenn and Lois
Hayter. Evelyn Elder
looked after the nurs-
ery. Susan Mann was
the reader and candle
lighter. Trish
McGregor's message
was "Reach out and
touch someone". The
service closed with the
benediction and choral
amen.
At Carmel
Presbyterian Church
Tracy Whitson-Bahro
was the minister.
Joyce Pepper was the
pianist
with Al
Hoggarth
and Harry Smith
receiving the offering.
The World's Day of
Prayer will be held at
Carmel Presbyterian
Church on March 3.
Hensall Legion held
their February meet-
ing on Wednesday
evening. Donations
were made to the
Cancer Society, CNIB,
and Hensall Public
School towards an
educational reading
program, allowing stu-
dents to participate in
this literacy program.
The
legion will
be helping
with the Valentine
party at Queensway
Nursing Home on Feb.
25, also the legion will
be in charge of bingo
at the Nursery Home
for the month of
March.

Pot luck supper at legion
EXETER - Exeter Seniors held
their monthly meeting on Feb. 7 at
the legion.
A delicious potluck supper was
enjoyed at 6 p.m. President Shirley
Kirk presided for the business
meeting. Jane Dearing read
"Timeless Valentine".
Happy Birthday was sung to
Murray Taylor, Jeanene Tucker,
Sam Skinner, Barb Sutton and
Donna Corbett. Murray Taylor
updated us on the senior games
and activities. Jim Bearss reported
on the upcoming Trade Fair in
June. Members voted to donate
$25 to Big Brothers and Big
Sisters. Judy Leybourne is looking
after cash register tapes and
members are asked to save them
and bring to the meetings.
Shirley Kirk was chairperson for
the program. Mary Baechler read
"The Flu Hoedown. "Man Walking
Into A Restaurant" and "An inter-
view with a 104 -year-old person".
Ruth Insley introduced the guest
speaker Yvonne Reynolds. She told
us of the Adult Day Centres activi-
ties available for all to participate
in.
A new venture is escorted shop-
ping trips. First one is scheduled
for April 12 to Masonville. Ruth
Insley thanked Yvonne and pre-
sented her with a gift of apprecia-
tion. Mary read "I Love To Live.
Musical entertainment was Harvey
Smith, Donald Finkbeiner and
Harold Mills. Everyone enjoyed
the music and many people
danced to the lively music that
they played. Share The Wealth
winners were Harvey Smith,
Murray Taylor, Helen Webber,
Clare Hayter, Barb Sutton, Marion
Dearing, Hedy Devine, Audrey
McDonald and Lorraine
Alexander.
Door prize winners were: Ruth
Squires, Doris Sillery, Joe
Stephens, Hedy Devine, June
Hodgson and Yvonne Reynolds.
The evening closed with "The
Seniors Prayer".
Next meeting is March 7 at 6
p.m. for a potluck supper at the
legion.
