Bourne earned his Doctor of Chiropractic at the Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. The business which opened on Main Street in Exeter recently is Bourne's second loca- tion. The first is in London which he works at three days a week with his wife Nancy Brooks who is also a chiropractor. He is in Exeter Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Bourne was in Exeter at a former location for three years but moved downtown and says he's happy with the change. "Yeah, I'm pleased, it's a big location and located in downtown Exeter," says Bourne. Another perk for Bourne's clients is the fact there are only a couple of steps leading into the business. Bourne says that makes it a lot easier for everyone, especially those in pain. Bourne also has a lot of parking for his clients around his business which he shares with insurance claim adjuster Peter Maurer. An interesting feature of Discover Health Centre is a piece of equipment called the Pulstar, which is a "computerized analysis and adjustment instru- ment," according to Bourne. Discover Health Centre is the only chiro- practic office in Ontario to carry such an instru- ment. There are only five in Canada and four of them are in Quebec. Bourne says it is used all over the world and is very popular in the U.S. The Pulstar is gentler on the patients than some of the twisting and turning, according to Bourne. "Problems that haven't been fixed with tradi- tional chiropractic treatments have been fixed with this," says Bourne. Discover Health Centre offers 13 differ- ent chiropractic tech- niques and will soon receive a motorized massage chair which will relax his patients after appointments.
