Novice tie
EXETER — The South Huron
Novice One team hosted Lucan
on Saturday and battled to a 3-3
tie.
South Huron opened the scor-
ing in the first period with a goal
from Bradley Regier assisted by
Nathan MacDonald.
The one -goal lead held up until
the second period when South
Huron's Jacob Hrudka scored.
Lucan came back to life with two
goals from Daniel Ivanouski and
Bryan Magalhaes.
Both teams scored in the third
period with Paige Lightfoot net-
ting it for South Huron.
South Huron demonstrated
excellent play making throughout
the game
Excellent offence came from
Brody Reid, Dillon Haist, Kean
Dwyer, Josh Stanlake, Mitch
Miller, Harrison Winters, Patrick
Medd, Hayden Bowman, Denver
Homuth and Ryan Neeb.
Owen Kuranyi was terrific in
net and it was a good game for
both teams to earn the tie.

Bantams `B' champions in Clifford
CLIFFORD — On Jan. 21 in Clifford
the Bantam Sabres local league
team won the `B' championship
despite losing one of their key
defensemen, Brad Boere due to a
broken collar bone in the first game.
The Sabres dedicated the remain-
ing games to their injured team-
mate.
The team entered the third period
down two goals to none against a
talent -laden Alvinston team but ral-
lied back to tie it in the latter stages.
They pulled out the win in the
third minute of overtime, while not
allowing a shot on net.
This was the third and last tourna-
ment for the Bantams.
In their first tournament they lost
the semifinal game of the 'B' cham-
pionship game in overtime, then in
the South Huron home tournament
they lost in overtime in the `B'
championship game.
"It's great to be on the other side
of one of these nail biters" said a
jubilant Michael Skochinski, coach
of the team.

South Huron Minor Hockey handed out its annual awards
Friday night during the Exeter Hawks' 5-2 win over Mt.
Brydges Friday night.Above, Linda Crerar received the
Pauline McCann Memorial Hockey Mom Award for her
dedication to local hockey. Presenting the award were

player who consistently demonstrates perseverance and
