Hay Communications Co-operative Limited recently made a donation of $4,000 to the
Blue Water Rest Home `Rest Well" campaign.Treasurer of the Blue Water board and
chairperson of the fundraising committee Ron Heimrich said,"We are highly gratified
that one of our local businesses has made such a large
commitment; we know that the entire community will
recognize the generosity of a gift such as this." "Rest
Well" is linked to the rest home's redevelopment plans
to renew or retrofit older sections of the facility. The
campaign hopes to initially raise enough funds to replace
older mechanically operated beds with electrically actu-
ated beds more easily controlled by both the residents
and staff. The cost of replacing all 65 beds is about
$130,000, a figure expected to take several years to
raise. The first fundraising goal was set at $36,000, with
the campaign beginning with a bulk mailing in November
2005."In the 11 weeks since then, we have received
over $23,000, or nearly 65 per cent of our 05/06 tar-
get," said Heimrich, thanking all who donated. Pictured
