The Owner, 21 -year-old Jamie Boxer of Lucan is thrilled to begin her first business adven- ture. "I'm so excited. I'm not ner- vous, more excited than any- thing," says Boxer. Changing Effects offers cus- tomers a number of choices. "I do hair, make-up, esthetics and waxing," says Boxer. Boxer, who is a licensed hair- stylist has also taken professional courses in every service she offers. "I took 1,500 hours of appren- ticeship for hairdressing by the government. I also took little courses for the other services," Boxer says. She has received a lot of sup- port from both family and friends. Her mother Nancy and father Craig, along with sisters 17 -year- old Jill and 14 -year-old Kelly have all helped out. Boxer's sisters will continue to assist her in the salon, putting the time towards their 40 hours of community service at Medway high school. Another person that has been supportive is the owner of Greg's Place, Greg Graham. Boxer says he has been helpful teaching her more about owning her own business and the com- munity of Lucan and area. Boxer is selling Matrix hair products at her salon. She is hoping to teach make-up classes and hire an employee by the summer. Jamie Boxer sits in her new busi- ness Monday during her grand opening of Changing Effects locat- ed on Main Street in Lucan. Boxer's salon offers a variety of choices including cutting hair and doing make-up, waxing and esthet- ics.
