C.W. meeting Jan. 10 By Rhoda Rhode THAMES ROAD CORRESPONDENT THAMES ROAD — Mr. Dave Williams was in charge of New Year's Day Sunday before Epiphany church service on Sunday morning. Dave led in the Call to Worship respon- sively and gave the Gathering Prayer and Prayer of Confession, assurance of God's grace. The opening hymn "God Reveal your Presence" was sung. Dave told a story to the young at heart "A Discovery of the Gold Crown" which was real interesting. Dave told the first scrip- ture reading Matthew 2:1- 12 - "the visit of the Magi". Psalm 148 was read responsively. Dave gave the scripture com- mentary on Luke 2:22-40 "Jesus presented in the temple". Helen Weston gave a Minute for Missions. John Batten and Sharon Passmore received the offering and Helen Weston brought an item forward for the food bank Everyone sang the dos- ing hymn "Unto Us a Child is Born" and Dave gave the Commissioning and pronounced the Benediction. Everyone sang the closing chorus. Announcements Sunday school Dates: Jan. 15 and Feb. 12.
