Coach: Todd Goetz Last season's record and playoff result: Won the Eastern Division of the AAA Alliance Current record: 25 wins seven losses and five ties including tourna- ment play What are your team's strengths? We have a very balanced lineup with tremendous strength to the last players. Currently ranked 25th in North America. What are your team's weakness- es? Consistency in the physical com- ponent of the game. We rely on skill a bit too much when occa- sionally aggressive play would be bet- ter. What did you learn from the inaugural year? Laker teams and Huron and Perth kids can com- pete with anyone in the world when our teams are made of the best our region has to offer. Any changes this year? What are they? We added four new players which increased our depth. Special teams play has been developed more so this year. Any special challenges your players have to overcome? We continue to develop great ath- letes. Tell me briefly about the players from the T -A read- ership area Ryan Watson is my solo player from the T -A read- ership area He is a very balanced, skilled and strong player. Ryan's strength, leadership and tenacity is integral to our teams suc- cess and he is one of the original five Lakers from minor Ryan Watson atom, now in his third year. What are the team's goals this season? We always set the goal of devel- oping fine young men as our prima- ry goal. The fact that we have this much fun doing it is a real bonus. What has been the highlight of the season so far? Winning the Guelph Powerplay tournament. What is the dif- ference between playing rep hock- ey and `AAA'? This is truly the NHL for kids, this is the highest level of hockey a child can play at. The development in this environ- ment is a natural extension for the very elite from their hometown rep program. If your child is exceptional in their rep environ- ment their devel- opment from a team approach suffers as they depend too heavily on individual skill. Our environment requires a bal- anced attack and defence. The ice - time and commit- ment is large, but the payback is enormous. Additional com- ments: Huron Perth Laker hockey is great hockey! Catch a game, as always admission is free. Do you recognize these players?
