How the elves
stole Christmas
Nicole Regier Grade 4
Mt. Carmel School
On the week of Christmas,
the elves were working in
the workshop and Santa
was sitting by the fire
reading letters. "I'm tired
of working for Santa", said
Mary who was an elf. "Me
too," said Jack. Soon some
of the elves agreed. Just
then Santa came in to
check on the elves. "Santa,
we're quitting our job
because it's boring", said
Andrew. And the elves
walked out the door.
Santa didn't know what
to do. The next day Santa
and Mrs. Clause went for a
walk. "Look! said Mrs.
Clause. "Elves!" So Santa
asked them if they would
come and work for them.
"Sure Santa, we'd love to,"
said an elf, and they fol-
lowed them back to the
workshop. When the elves
that quitted heard this
they were angry. "I can't
believe Santa replaced
us," said Mary. "Me too,"
said Andrew. So they
thought of a way to stop
Christmas.
"I know! We can steal all
the gifts," said Jack.
"Yeah!!" they all said.
Back at the shop the elves
were getting the sleigh
ready for Christmas Eve.
On the twenty-third night
of December the elves got
ready to steal the gifts.
The next day Santa went
to see his shining sleigh.
"Oh, no! Where are all the
gifts?" cried Santa. So
Santa went to see his head
elves Bob and Sara. "Hello
Santa!" said the head
elves.
"Elves, where are all the
gifts?" asked Santa. When
they saw that the gifts
were gone they went to
get Mrs. Clause. "Oh
dear!" cried Mrs. Clause.
Back at the place where
the elves that quitted
were, they sat and thought
about Santa and Mrs.
Clause. "I miss Santa and
Mrs. Clause," said Jack.
"Me too. I miss Santa's
jolly laugh and Mrs.
Clause's yummy cookies,"
said Mary. So they went to
give back the gifts. When
they got there Santa, Mrs.
Clause, and the head elves
were sitting by the sleigh
crying. "Look, the gifts,"
cried Mrs. Clause. "We're
sorry Santa!!" said the
elves.
And the children got
their gifts and the elves
worked for Santa.

At Christmas my sister Taylor and I like to help my
mom bake Christmas rice crispies and cookies. We add
smarties for decorations. It is really fun! For Santa we
leave milk, cookies and rice crispies. We leave carrots
for all nine reindeer including Rudolph. The rice
crispies are red, green and white the normal colour.
Once the rice crispies are finished we give them to
people. They taste really good!
