Christmas Eve
in Dominican
Republic

Christmas Eve in
Dominican Republic was
unlike any other.
Imagine at Christmas
without the rush, with-
out the tension of buying
all the gifts on time, and
the stress of entertain-
ing. A Christmas eve
spent entirely with my
family, relaxing and
enjoying our time
together.
The warmth of the bril-
liant tropical sun was a
much needed relief from
the burden of winter. I
was shaded by towering
peaceful palm trees as I
lounged in the cool
refreshing pool. The
sand between my feet
was smooth and gentle
while I walked down the
picturesque shoreline as
the waves rolled in, and
magically disappeared
into the sand.
When I got back to the
beach from my walk, the
joyful, festive sounds of
jolly Christmas carols
filled my ears. The
rhythmic, calming,
waves washing up on
the shoreline were
peaceful and relaxing.
As I journeyed back to
the resort, I caught a
drift of the rich, intrigu-
ing smells of Christmas
dinner. I quickened my
pace as the smells got
stronger and stronger.
Finally my journey came
to an end when I saw
the endless tables of
food, food and more
delectable food. From
chicken and duck to
sushi (YUCK).
Everything was delicious
and tasted delightful.
The potatoes were
mashed to perfection
with lots of butter to
make it taste great, the
chicken was moist and
full of flavour, that made
my taste buds dance
with delight. The
desserts were stuffed
full of chocolate great-
ness with rich creamy
centres that put a joyful
little grin on everyone's
faces. My tastebuds
were in heaven.
Everything was scrump-
tious.
On Christmas Eve Day
we all excitedly ventured
down the ocean's side,
boarded a large boat
and went out to the
ocean for an adventure.
From the moment I
plunged into the ocean's
depth, I was amazed at
the enchanted new
world under the sea... I
enjoyed the breathtaking
view of all beautiful life
in this unbelievable
world. Red fish, blue
fish, every shape and
size, every colour of the
rainbow. It was almost
like swimming on a pool
filled with colourful skit-
tles.
Spending Christmas in
Dominican Republic was
full of great memories
that I will always cher-
ish.
LETTERS TO SANTA
Dear Santa
I have been a good boy
this year, kind of. This year I
would like a bigger bike and I
don't need training wheels
anymore. I will leave some
milk and cookies out for you
and a carrot for rudolph. I
love you Santa. Merry
Christmas. Love, Marty

Hi there Santa, I hope you
are keeping warm these days. I
have a big problem and I hope
you can help! My Nanna (who is
awesome!) bought me a Chicken
Little game but it is for
Playstation 2. Here's my prob-
lem: we don't have a playsta-
tion! If you could take care of
this I would be grateful and I
promise I will share with my big sister Bailey who is
11 (she is awesome too!) There will be an Eatmore
chocolate bar by the tree...Mom says that is your
favorite? Have a good trip! From Coleson

LETTERS TO SANTA
Dear Santa
For Christmas I would
like some more dinky cars,
anything to do with tractors
(only the green ones of
course) and maybe a puzzle
or book. Hope you and Mrs.
Claus are both well and hugs
& kisses to all the reindeer.
Will leave you all a treat
Christmas Eve.

Dear Santa,
Thank you for the stuff
last year. I enjoyed play-
ing with my toys. I love to
play with my animals. I
have a new bus driver. He
is very nice. I love to ride
my pony and my Mom's
horse. My dog has the
fleas right now. My cat
gets really fluffy in the
winter, because he's a
long haired cat. My pony
also gets long fur too. My
bunny sheds and then
grows new fresh fur, for
the winter.
