What are some of your Christmas memories?
Max Masse Grade 6
St. Boniface School
My favourite Christmas
memories are when my
brother and I would go
downstairs at about three
o'clock in the morning and
open all of
the pre-
sents that
we would
get from
Santa.
Then we
would go
and wake
up my
Mom and
Dad and
tell them what we got from
Santa. My house was always
busy on Christmas day
because I have seven broth-
ers! The best part was when
we all sit down together and
open our gifts.
Charlene Neilands Grade 5
St. Boniface School
I remember last year that I
asked my Mom for a Winx
club doll and I received two
Winx club dolls for Christmas
last year. I am also collecting
My Scene
dolls and
I also
received
two last
year, a
boy and a
girl (the
boy came
with a
skate-
board). I usually ask Santa
for barbie dolls and when I
was seven he left me with a
pink barbie. She had curly
blonde hair and a very nice
sparkly pink dress with a
pink crown. There were
guards who put her on the
top of the castle and there
was a rose bush growing up
the side of the tower. The
princess barbie grabbed the
rose and put it in the middle
of her dress and then the
guards let her go. When I
was eight, I received a swan
lake barbie suitcase from
Santa Clause. I really like
dolls! Merry Christmas
everyone.

I think get-
ting that
special pre-
sent — the

Spending
time with
my family,
too.

My favourite Christmas
memories
are putting
the Angel on
the tree
every year
and hanging
the orna-
ments with
my family.
One year,
my family
got me a special fish that eats
other fish.

I was seven years old and
my dad
and I
went out-
side and
had a
snowball
fight. We
made lit-
tle forts
and then
we had a
big war. The most I remem-
ber is when my dad grabbed
a huge snow block and
crushed me. Then I got my
revenge on him by shoving
snow in his face. This was
the best Christmas memory
for me.

My favourite Christmas
memory is
when I
was in the
junior
kinder-
garten
Christmas
concert. I
was a rein-
deer and I
was very
excited and proud to be a
part of the play.
Sydney Groot Grade 3

One day I slept in until
9:30 a.m. and I wanted the
day to go fast so I went out-
side and I built a snowfort. I
stayed out there for two
hours. It
w a s
almost
lunch
time and
there
was still
a few
minutes
left so I
went to colour in my pony
book. I ate lunch and when I
was done I went to go read.
I read three chapters and
then I wrote a song for a
Christmas carol. it was sup-
per time already and we ate
dressing, potatoes and meat.
It was very good. Then I
went to bed and Santa must
have came. When it was
morning I woke up everyone
then we opened my presents
and that was the best
Christmas ever!

I like going and seeing my
family. I
like when
they
appreciate
what I get
them for
Christmas.
I like when
my sisters
get up
before me
and Brittany and try to beat
us downstairs. I like how
every Christmas Eve we get
together with another family
in Dashwood — it's a tradi-
tion!

T h e
year that
my broth-
er got this
robot that
shoots
balls out
of it
because
my uncle
Dwayne
always
buys him something crazy! I
like to eat the turkey meal
because it's the only time I
get to eat a lot. It's yummy!
My uncle Dwayne also got
my brother a plastic guitar
that is really noisy and it
drives my parents insane.

M y
favourite
Christmas
memory
is when
my whole
family
gets
together
and sings
Christmas carols Everyone
picks their favourite
Christmas carol. The rest of
the people sing it. It goes
youngest to oldest, starting
with my cousin Callum and
ending with grandpa Dan.
This is my favourite
Christmas memory because
everyone comes together
and has fun!

My favourite Christmas
memory was when I was 5 -
years -old. At the time I had
a nick-
name of
"The Little
Monster."
I was
fighting
with my
older
broth -
e r
and I
w a s
told that I was on the
naughty list. But on
Christmas, I woke up
as early as I could
to see if Santa
had come. I
gtee
remember wak-
ing everybody up,
Cik tmai

telling them Santa had
come. It was six o'clock and
I was told to wait until seven
a.m. I couldn't wait an
entire hour so I snuck down-
stairs and tried guessing my
presents. I don't know why
but I don't remember the
presents or the Christmas
dinner. What I do remember
was the blue wrapping
paper with little polar bears
skiing down hills. That's
what I remember from my
most memorable Christmas.
Karlee Marsden,

I don't have exactly one
memorable Christmas mem-
ory. I have many! One thing
that I will never forget about
Christmas would be our tra-
ditional Christmas Eve. We
start with a German dinner.
We have meat rolls (roladin)
and potato dumplings (cler-
sa). After this we all go to
our church service. When
we finally go back to my
nana and
grandpa's
we find
room in
our bellies
to eat a
f e w
munchies.
We also
drink hot
chocolate.
Someone
in our family (normally my
dad or brother Josh) hands
out the gifts to everyone. My
brother and I normally get
pajamas, so we run and put
them on and everyone
enjoys the time with our
family. At around eleven or
11:30 p.m., my parents,
brother and I say goodbye to
my grandparents with many
hugs and kisses. We quickly
run home and put out some
cheesecake and beer for
Santa and hurry off to bed!
We are always so excited
when we go to sleep! Can't
wait to see what we get the
next morning!
Melanie Vivian,
Grade 5
Biddulph Central School
My Christmas memory is
going to my grandparents
house in Ancaster, Ont. Last
N
0 -
year
it was the
last Christmas
in the house
and we have
always gone
t o
the same
house for
many
years. We
would
have the
whole
family
down for
dinner and
go open
our Christmas presents from
all our family members. We
would always have a
"Santa" to hand out all the
gifts under the large
Christmas tree. While din-
ner was cooking we would
all play with the toys that we
got. We would also go spy
on the parents since it was a
big house!! That is my
Christmas memory!
Melinda Van Arenthals,
Grade 6
Biddulph Central School
My best Christmas memo-
ry was when I went to a
baby shower with my mom.
My cousin who was having
the baby got a medium sized
brown bear with heavy feet.
I was about six or seven and
fell in love with it. At that
time I loved big animals, but
it was September so I would
have to wait three months
until Christmas so I could
get it. I asked my mom if I
could get it sooner and she
kept say-
ing no so
I didn't
know if I
w a s
going to
get it.
Just in
case I
didn't, I
saved up $50, because the
bear was around $30 and I
needed extra money. So
Christmas came and to my
surprise I opened a huge
box and found the brown
bear and I still have the
bear!
