at Granton -Wesley UC

GRANTON - The Biddulph Blanshard
Firefighters held their annual hay ride for chil-
dren on December 11. Later, Santa Claus was at
the Fire Hall with refreshments for the children.
The annual Community supper, sponsored by
the UCW, was held on December 13 at the
Granton Wesley United Church, commencing at
5:30 p.m. Pastor Paul Vollick asked the grace and
UCW president Margaret Bryan welcomed every-
one. The program followed at 7 p.m. featuring the
Old Spice Girls from Mitchell (including Audrey
Harloff formerly of Granton). The group was
introduced by Marilyn Humphrey, president of
Unit 4 who were in charge of the program. Later,
Marilyn and Margaret passed a candle of Peace to
the Group which they had previously received
from a former church. A short U.C.W. business
meeting followed when donations were made to
Middlesex Presbytery Resource Centre, Camp
Kee -Mo -Kee, Mission Services of London,
Canadian Bible Society, St. Marys Salvation Army
food bank, Ailsa Craig food bank, VON HOMME,
VON Palliative care and Granton Wesley United
Church.

with a gift from the U.C.W.
Officers from the former two years were re-
installed by the nominating committee. The meet-
ing was closed with the UCW benediction and
Margaret extended season's greetings to every-
one.
At the Granton -Wesley United Church on
Sunday, December 18th Lay Pastor Paul Vollick
led the service and the message was entitled
`Love'. The lessons were from Psalm 89, Luke 1
and 1st Corinthians 13. Sara, Martin, Colin and
Eric Burford lit the fourth Advent Candle.
Elizabeth Herbert, Blake and Paige Forron con-
tinued the story of the Jesse tree while the chil-
dren decorated it.
The Ministry of Music was 'Oh, that Hallelujah
Night'.
The Community Carol Sing was held at the St.
Patrick's Catholic Church on Sunday night,
December 18th, when the Granton Wesley U.C.
Choir took part.
At Granton -Wesley United Church the Christmas
Eve Service will be at 7 p.m. Christmas Day
Service 10 a.m. New Years Day Service 10 a.m.
At St. Paul's Anglican Church in Kirkton on
Sunday, December 18th (Advent 4) Rev. Dalice
Sim led the lessons and carols service.
Thomas Schaus and Garth Blackler lit the
Advent Candles.
The lessons were read by Sarah Blackler,
George Burgin, Garth Blackler, Mary Blackler,
Emma Blackler, Jill Schaus, and Rev. Dalice Sim.
The Christmas Eve service is scheduled for 9
p.m. and a New Years Day service at 9:15 a.m.
