14 in Lucan
with a 5-2 win
The Irish built
a 4-0 lead by
the third period
before the
Bulldogs got on
the board with
a pair of goal.
The Irish were
doubled 4-2 by
Nor th
Middlesex
Sunday after-
noon.
Lucan has a
1 0- 1 3- 2- 0
record for
fourth in the
Morenz division with
22 points.
Exeter leads the divi-
sion with 32 points,
two up on Mitchell.
Lambeth continues
to lead the conference
with 34 points while
Wellesley leads the
league with 42 points.

(Wednesday) in Lucan
in their last game
before Christmas.
Lucan will return to
action Dec. 28 when
Exeter visits for an
7:45 p.m. game.

Panthers roll over Goderich
EXETER — The South Huron
District High School junior boys
basketball team was at home Dec.
14 to face Goderich.
The final score of the game was
43 -16 for South Huron.
Top scorers were Lachlan
Macgregor with 12 points, Kurt
Van Osch with 10 and Justin
Anstett with five.
Coach Henry Bonsma said
Stephen Mann and Alex Davis
played well off the bench.
The boys played a sluggish first
half and led by a score of 17-7.
but turned it on in the second half
and pulled away.
The first league game was
against Mitchell DHS. and South
Huron was victorious by a score of
53-31.
It was another sluggish start but
some strong defence by VanOsch,
Kyle Masse, and Macgregor led to
transition baskets and a victory for
South Huron.
The top scorers were Macgregor
with 23 points, Justin Anstett with
nine, Van Osch had eight and
Masse with seven.
Bonsma said the team is young
and inexperienced but has a lot of
heart and hopefully hard work and
practice will lead to a successful
season.

3-2 loss for Hensall
HENSALL — The Hensall Sherwoods lost a hard
fought 3-2 overtime game Dec. 17 in Shelburne.
The Sherwoods fell behind 2-0 in the first period to
the first place Muskies but rebounded to tie the
game in the second.
J.R Davies got the Sherwoods back in the game
with a pair of goals 30 seconds apart.
But it was all Hensall could get as neither team
could break the tie in the third period forcing an
overtime where Shelburne capitalized for the 3-2
win.
Jeremy Vanbergen had a pair of assists in the loss
and Jarrett Jeffrey had one.
The Sherwoods have a 10-5-1-0 record for 21
points and seventh place.
Shelburne continues to lead the league with 30
points.
The Sherwoods are off this weekend and will finish
the year with a pair of games next week.
Hensall will visit Tavistock for a Wednesday night
game Dec. 28 at 8:30 p.m. before the final game of
2005 in Mildmay Dec. 30 at 8:30 p.m.
