The Hawks rolled to a 9-0 win over Lucan Nov. 30 before dou- bling West Lorne 6-3 Saturday night. The Hawks finished their week Sunday night where they came away with a 4-2 win. The wins give the Hawks a 14-7-1-0 record for 29 points and first in the divi- sion, two ahead of Mitchell which has one game in hand. Lambeth leads the conference with 30 points and Wellesley leads the league with 38 points. Wednesday night in Lucan the Hawks got all the offence they would need in the first period with goals from Jason Stuckless and Josh Liddle for a 2-0 lead at the end of one period. Exeter blew the game open in the sec- ond with four more unanswered goals from Scott Davies, Liddle, Dan Moir and Troy Elder. Three more goals in the third, including two from Chad Snell and one more from Troy Elder completed the 9-0 whitewash. Exeter coach and general manager Dale Howard said the score didn't reflect the game. "We had the bounces, everything went right that night." Howard added he feels the Hawks are starting to hit their stride. "We're doing pretty good, I'm liking everything." Picking up assists in the win were Moir Sherwoods over River Rats HENSALL — The Hensall Sherwoods won a wide open game against the Georgian Bay River Rats Saturday night by an 8-7 score. Hensall's game versus Palmerston Friday night was cancelled due to weather. Saturday night after a score- less first period the teams exploded for six goals in the second with the Sherwoods get- ting four. Hensall received three goals from Jeremy Geoffrey in the period and one from Andrew Mauer to take a 4-2 lead into the third period. But a pair of goals by the River Rats early in the third, including one shorthanded, put them back in the game. The teams continued to trade goal for goal in the period with Chris Downie and Jeff Glover each getting one and Geoffrey getting his fourth of the night. Downie got what would prove to be the winning goal with his second of the night and the Sherwoods hung on for the win. The Sherwoods have a 10-3-0 record for 20 points, one behind Elora, two back of Durham and three back of Lucan-Ilderton and Shelburne who remain tied for first.
