Keeping busy at Queensway
HENSALL - Life at
Queesnsway continues to
be busy through a variety
of daily programs. The
last two Mondays the
Bethal Reformed Ladies
assisted with bingo. On
Tuesdays church services
were led by Pasor Rod
Chalk and Rev. Harry
Frielink. Wednesday
euchre games always
draw a good crowd. On
Nov. 17 Father John was
in to do a service for
Catholic residents. Fred
James and Ken Wilson
provided music for
Friendship Friday.
Unfortunately due to
inclement weather, the
November birthday party
and senior diners sched-
uled for November 24
had to be cancelled. The
week ended with a
Sunday afternoon tea
party for nursing home
residents.
Tuesday morning
breakfast groups are
always eagerly anticipat-
ed. The residents were
able to voice their compli-
ments and concerns at
both food committee and
resident's council. All the

Festive R.I.D.E.
program begins
MIDDLESEX COUNTY — The OPP's
Festive R.I.D.E. program began Nov. 25
and ends Jan. 2. The OPP will team up
with police services across Ontario for
the campaign.
Impaired driving remains the leading
criminal cause of death in Canada. Last
year, during the five-week program offi-
cers stopped 450,582 vehicles at roadside
checkpoints. They charged 294 people
with criminal code alcohol-related offens-
es and a total of 664, 12 -hour license
suspensions were issued.
Officers also issued 315 of the 90 -day
Administrative Drivers License
Suspensions. For every 470 vehicles
checked at the R.I.D.E. locations, one dri-
ver was either charged with an impaired
driving related charge or was issued a
12 -hour license suspension. Officers also
investigated 37 fatal collisions resulting
in 41 people losing their lives. Three of
these collisions were alcohol related.

HUR — Between Nov. 25 and Nov.
27 Huron OPP conducted R.I.D.E. pro-
grams in and around Exeter, Clinton,
Walton, Goderich and Seaforth. They
stopped 540 vehicles. Two Highway
Traffic Act warnings were issued and one
12 -hour drivers license suspension issued
to a 38 -year-old male from St.
Catharines.
