The Times Advocate, 2005-11-23, Page 17Wednesday, November 23, 2005 Exeter Times—Advocate 17 Exeter Saddle Club hands out awards EXETER — The Exeter Saddle Club held its annual banquet and awards ceremony Nov. 12 at the Exeter Legion. After a roast beef dinner served by the Legion ladies and their helpers, door prizes donated by local busi- nesses and club members were handed out. Awards for the 2005 show season varied widely including sweaters, travel mugs, lawn chairs, belt buckles and watches. After tallying the points from the five shows held this year, the resulting champion and runner-up were rec- ognized in each class with prizes. Belt buckles were handed out as High Point Awards to the following, with certificates to the remaining placings: • English Rider- Pettit, Dougall, Smith, Frank and Caitlin Dorssers; Senior Performance- Gilkinson; • Junior A Performance -Frank, Pettit, Caitlin Dorssers, Mulholland and Smith; • Junior B Performance Rider -Hunter Taylor, Alysa Coddington, Wesley McComb,Quentin McComb and Kayla McComb; • Junior B Games Rider -Wesley McComb, Hunter Taylor, Quentin McComb, Kayla McComb and Ducharme; • Junior C Rider- Riley, Keenan Taylor, Kristina Eilers, Megan O'Brien and Vanessa Riddell; Junior A Games- Masse, Dougall, Pettit, Emily Forrest and Mitton; • Senior Games -Al Parsons. The club members voted at the last show to decide who would receive the following two awards. The most improved rider was Ducharme and mem- ber of the year was Dave Broom. Keeper trophies awarded for 2004 went to Caitlin Dorssers for overall high point in performance, while Riley received the trophy for overall high point for games. Overall high point performance 2005 went to Cathy Gilkinson and Masse won the overall high point games title. The club also recognized the following members for their contributions to the club: treasurer/food Booth- Clasina Geurts, and show announcer Richard Webb. A presentation was made to Lindsey Dale and Charlie Moore for their efforts in organizing the youth team for the Paris competition. A silent auction was carried out during the dance that followed, and members had the opportunity to bid on several donated prizes. You could win up to $10,000 towards a vehicle.
