Youth group to meet on Thurs . , Nov 17

ZURICH - Upcoming musical
entertainment at Blue Water
Rest Home on Tues., Nov. 22
at 6:30 p.m. will be the
Lakeview Conservative
Mennonite Choir. "Harvey
and His Friends" will enter-
tain on Wed., Nov. 23 at 6:30
p.m.
The Goderich Music Group
will be at the Home Fri., Nov.
25 at 2:30 p.m.
Everyone is welcome to
come out to the programs and
visit the residents at the same
time.
Congratulations to Brad and
Anne Mousseau of RR 2,
Hensall who celebrated their
30th Wedding Anniversary on
Oct. 15.
A Turkey Bingo sponsored
by the Zurich Lions Club will
be held at the complex Wed.,
Nov. 30. Doors will open at 6
p.m. with games starting at 7
p.m.
Plans are well underway for
Zurich's Santa Claus Parade.
It will be held on Sun., Dec. 4
at 6 p.m. Floats are needed.

person. Perth
OPP wanted a
27 -year-old
female resident
of Dashwood for
outstanding
weapons and
drug charges.
The subject was
arrested by
Huron OPP and
held by Perth
OPP for a bail
hearing in
Stratford.
Len and Jean Leng of RR 2,
Zurich recently returned
home from a two-week vaca-
tion. They flew from Toronto
to Germany and went on a
seven day cruise of the Greek
Islands.
Joan and Charlie Regier and
Cathy and Mary Regier of
Zurich enjoyed travelling to
Branson Missouri last week.
The weather was warm while
they were there.
Martha and Willy Overholt
of Zurich and Cecilia and Don
Denomme of Goderich spent a
few days in Toronto last week
where they attended the
Induction of the Hockey Hall
of Fame Ceremony.
David and Tracy Regier of
RR 2, Zurich, along with Doug
and Janet Willsie of Thedford
and Ron and Susan Koert of
Fullerton travelled to Virginia
by van for a week's holiday.
The three couples were cele-
brating their 20th Wedding
Anniversary.
The staff of St. Boniface
School held a surprise baby
shower last Friday for Karen
Kramers (J.K. teacher) A pot
luck hot meal was enjoyed by
all, complete with cake, flow-
ers and gifts.
Keep saving your empty pop
cans for St. Boniface Building
fund. You can leave them
with Doug Debus or John
Jacobs.
The Bean Festival
Committee are planning a
New Year's Eve Dance in
Zurich at the complex. Tickets
will be available soon at $25 a
person.
The next Lions Club dinner
meeting will be at Erb's
Country Kitchen on
Wednesday, Nov. 23 begin-
ning at 7 p.m. The club will
soon be delivering the new
phone books around town.
Anyone with used eye glasses
can give them to the Lions
Club. Special boxes for them
are at Erb's Country Kitchen
and Rader's Variety Store in
Zurich.
There was a good atten-
dance at the Blue Water Rest
Home auxiliary meeting in
November. Patty Groot spoke
on various topics and handed
out the new programs for the
month. Residents will be kept
very busy going to various
events.
Hilda Lansbergen gave the
treasurer's report and collect-
ed the membership dues for
2006.
Carmel Sweeney chaired the
meeting and welcomed every-
one after Andy Rau and The
Swinging Seniors entertained.
Cecilia Farwell gave a
report on sending out cards
and asked if someone was
interested in taking over this
job from her. She also dis-
played three lovely quilts
made by the Quilters Guild
and the auxiliary made a
motion to buy one ready for
next year's Bean Festival tick-
et draw.

and Bridget Groot for taking
care of the raffle at the
Home's family dinner on Nov.
6. Viola Ramer volunteered to
be in charge of the program
for our next meeting which is
Feb. 7, 2006. Viola will need
a helper. The auxiliary meets
every three months on the
first Tuesday of the month at
6:30 p.m. Everyone is wel-
come to attend.
St. Boniface and St. Peter's
Youth Group will be meeting
in their parish hall on Thurs.,
Nov. 17 to do some Christmas
Crafts to take to the Blue
Water Rest Home in
December.
The Golden Agers next pro-
gressive euchre party is Mon.,
Nov. 28, 7:30 p.m. at the Hay
Township Hall in Zurich.
Admission is $3 which
includes fun, card games,
prizes and lunch. Come out
and bring a friend.
There are a lot of new peo-
ple moving to town lately.
