Chamber GM
moves on
GRAND BEND — After 10 years of
service as general manager of the
Grand Bend & Area Chamber of
Commerce, Lindsey Ashworth
Ducharme is moving on to new
things.
The board of directors accepted
Lindsey's resignation with regret
Nov. 9.
"Lindsey will be greatly missed.
She put her heart and soul into her
work. Her efforts have helped make
the chamber very strong and put it
on an excellent footing to flourish
into the future," said board mem-
ber Paul Ciufo.
Lindsey's efforts over the past 10
years have assisted the chamber to
grow to over 200 members, recruit
a group of highly dedicated volun-
teers and achieve a solid financial
position.
In recent years the chamber also
built a new office and tourism infor-
mation centre to serve the commu-
nity and visitors.
"We wish Lindsey the best in all of
her future endeavours," said Ciufo.

When you suffer from dry nasal passages,
sometimes a saline nose drop or spray will help
moisturize these areas. There are ready -to -use
sprays you can buy but if you want to make your
own saline solution, just add one-quarter
teaspoonful (1.5m1) of salt in one cup (240m1) of water. The result is
normal saline solution, which is comfortable to use. Make a new batch
every 3 days.
Some cold medications can raise blood pressure. If you have high
blood pressure and want to treat cold symptoms, check with your
pharmacist for advice.
Blood transfusions are safer today than at any other time in history.
The first recorded human blood transfusion was in 1795 in the U.S.
For blood transfusions to work, there has to be a good supply of
blood. If you've never given blood, perhaps it's time to start. Contact
the Canadian Blood Services office nearest you.
Getting cold sore? You know that faint tingling signifying a few days
of discomfort. Try this. Wrap an ice cube in a cloth and apply to the
affected area for 15 seconds, stop for 15 seconds then repeat cycle
for about 10 minutes. No one knows why but it sometimes works to
stop the cold sore in its tracks.
