Remembrance Day ser-
vice was conducted at
Carmel Presbyterian
Church with Tracy
Whitson-Bahro conduct-
ing the service. Dorothy
Taylor and Joyce Pepper
supplied the music for the
ministry of song. Tracy's
message was "Memories
through silence". Tracy
shared memories of talks
she had with an ex -sailor
about his service days,
many veterans don't talk
of their service days and
the horror they lived
through. Members of
Legion
LL NEWS Branch 468
and the
Scouting Movement were
special guests at the ser-
vice. Following the
church service, wreaths
were placed at the ceno-
taph.
Flowers in the sanctuary
were in memory of the
late Glenn Koehler.
Sympathy is extended to
Audrey and family.
Come out and enjoy our
November meal at the
Hensall Drop -In on Nov.
17 at the Hensall United
Church. Lunch will be
served at noon. Following
lunch, we will be hearing
from the Romijn Family.
This family sings, dances,
and plays fiddles.
Definitely worth coming to
hear. We welcome all
local individuals to this
luncheon, held on the
third Thursday of each
month. The cost is $5 per
person. If required,
transportation can be pro-
vided. To make reserva-
tions contact Marg Cole at
262-2304 or Faye Skinner
at 235-0258 by noon on
Mon., Nov. 14.
An open house was held
at Pine Sampler Furniture
on the weekend. This
new business has some-
thing for everyone. The
hand-crafted teddy bears
by Gillian come in all sizes
and would be a welcome
gift for all ages. There
are bedroom suites, book-
cases, and lots of smaller
items made of wood.
There is a great variety of
little gifts including Santa
figurines and special fire
engines that would be a
welcome addition to any
decor. Look for the
striped awning on Main
Street Hensall and stop in
to meet Paul and Gillian.
