IT IS FUN TO HAVE SOME RECIPES ON HAND THAT MAKE 'FOOD ON THE GO' ADVENTUROUS! THE FOLLOWING RECIPE IS A NEW ONE I HAVE EXPERIMENTED WITH AND HAD GREAT SUCCESS WITH OVER THANKSGIVING. MY FAMILY HAS ASKED FOR THE RECIPE AND I PROMISED I WOULD BE PUTTING IT IN THE PAPER FOR ALL OF US TO ENJOY. IT IS TO BE USED LIKE A SPREAD WITH CRACKERS OR PITA TRIANGLES. CRUNCHY CHEESE DIP 1-19 oz can pineapple drained well (reserve I tbsp juice) 1 pkg cream cheese, softened 1 tbsp juice from pineapple 1 rib of celery chopped fine I can of water chestnuts, drained and chopped 1/4 cup chopped fine, red pepper 1/2 tsp seasoned salt 1/2 cup grated marble cheese 1/4 tsp pepper 2 tbsp chopped chives or green onion 1 cup chopped fine, pecans Mix all ingredients, place in a serving dish, cover and keep refrigerated. 1 found it tasted better the next day so make ahead. A great change from the traditional cheese ball! Crediton W. I. relaxes CREDITON - The regular monthly meeting of the Crediton Women's Institute was held October 26 at the Crediton hall. The roll call, "What have you changed to be more healthy?" was answered by 11 members. Cheryl MacLeod and Chris Vanhie chaired the pro- gram. The theme was "Current Health Issues". Cheryl commented on "improving your memory tonight", "breathing easier" and how to "chill out" by de -stress- ing yourself. Chris led members through a 20 minute routine of relaxation and breathing. She commented on stress and anxiety problems, reminding the ladies to "not sweat the small stuff" and get plenty of exer- cise. President Alma Davey was in charge of the business part of the meeting. Plans were made for the upcom- ing Board meeting in Exeter on November 2. The annual Seniors Christmas Dinner will be held on November 21 at the Crediton hall. Cheryl and Chris provided a delicious lunch ending an enjoyable and healthy evening. CHURCH NEWS At Zion United Church, Rev. Sheila Macgregor is on minister's study leave this week and any emergency pastoral care is available from Rev. Harry Disher at 238-5690. Mark Graves of Stratford will be the guest speaker on Sun., Nov. 6. Today, Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. the United Church Women will meet for the regular November meeting and ladies are reminded to bring cookies for the shut- ins. Please note the change of time. Daylight Break-in EXETER - OPP were notified of a break-in to a resi- dence on Edward Street in Exeter Oct 12. Someone that day entered the house and stole $2808 worth of electronic equipment. Stolen were a black 2005 Compaq laptop computer and a silver 2005 Olympus digital camera. brother, Aiwa Jordan is a helpful 12 year old who likes play- ing hockey and loves the out- doors! Jordan enjoys swimming, fishing, and hiking. Jordan also likes to snowmobile. Jordan would love to have a Big Brother! Jordan is one of our great Little Brothers looking for a mentoring friendship.
