LUCAN — Two goals in the first period and three
more in the second were enough to power the Lucan
Irish to a 5-3 win over Mt. Brydges Oct. 26 in Lucan.
After playing 11 games, the Irish have a 5-4-2 record
for 12 points, three back of division leading Exeter and
two back of Mitchell.
Thamesford leads the conference with 17 points
while Wellesley leads the league overall with 25 points.
Wednesday night Trevor Liddle and Brett Parker
staked the Irish to a 2-1 lead at the end of the first
period.
Pat Flood, Bob Martin and Allan St. Amand fired
three more in the second to build a 5-2 lead going into
the third.
The Bombers cut the lead to 5-3 midway through the
third period but it was all they could get.
The Irish were in action Monday night in the front
end of a home and home pair against West Lorne.
The Lakers will be in Lucan tonight (Wednesday) at
7:45 p.m.
The Irish will visit Thamesford Friday night at 8:30
p.m.
Annual beef supper at church Nov 20

GRANTON CORRESPONDENT
GRANTON - The sympathy of the Granton community
is extended to the family of Valbert Middleton who died
suddenly at his home in Granton on Sun., Oct. 23 in his
81st year. The funeral was held at the Haskett Funeral
Home in Lucan on Wed., Oct. 26. Interment in
Woodland Cemetery, London.
The traditional annual turkey supper was held at
Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Lucan on Wed., Oct.
26 and was well attended as usual.
At the Granton -Wesley United Church on Sun., Oct.
30 Pastor Paul Vollick led the service and the message
was entitled `Anticipation'. The lessons were from
Joshua 3 and 1st Thessalonians 2. Blake Foran lit the
Christ Candle. The Ministry of Music was 'Sing Your
Joy'. The children's hymn was 'Let us Sing of a
Wonderful Love'. Flowers in the sanctuary were from
the funeral of Val Middleton.

Saints Sun., Oct. 30 Rev. Dalice Sim celebrated the
Holy Eucharist. The message was about showing forth
God's Love by faith and commitment. Brent Blackler
read the lessons. Flowers were placed at the altar in
memory of Kathy Blackler's parents, Muriel and
Burnett Hall.
Courtney Groot and Lauren Regier participated in
the Peewee Power Tournament at the Bruce Bowling
Lanes in Kincardine Oct. 23 placing 6th out of 10
