Students learned road and traffic safe- ty as well as how to exit a bus quickly and orderly in an emergency. (photo/submitted) One-man band still a favourite HENSALL — Queensway Resident Council met Friday and discussion took place regarding our participation in upcoming Remembrance Davy events. Pastoral Volunteer, Pastor Elly Van Bergen of Varna and Goshen United Churches will officiate at the Queensway Remembrance Service sched- uled for Fri., Nov. 11 at 2 p.m. Several local legion members will attend. October Birthdays were celebrated at the monthly birthday party Thurs., Oct. 27 with entertain- ment by one- man band, Lorne McKenzie of Wingham. His versatility and energy make him one of our favourite entertainers. Birthday cele- brants were, Marion Averill, Charles McLean, Bea Mantey, Lillian Quick, Winnifred Kipper, Jack Lavendar, Bea Munn and Esther Wright. Appreciation goes to the many family members who chose to attend and help their loved ones cele- brate. The Rev. John Tremulak of Zion Lutheran Church in Dashwood led worship Tues., Oct. 25 for resi- dents and also spent time fol- lowing the ser- vice providing pastoral visita- tion to his peo- ple. The artistic types at Queensway gathered in the sunroom on Friday after- noon to exercise their pumpkin carving talent. Residents drew the design on the pumpkins, staff wielded the knife and sever- al assisted with the emptying of the pumpkin contents. The result was two quite acceptable faces, one scary and one happy.
