A flash back to some memories capturing 2006
ATM hit — The ATM inside the entrance of the Exeter Royal Bank was broken
into Nov. 15 early in the morning before the bank opened.The bank was closed

Breaking ground — Many people attended the ceremonial first dig of the new
GreenField Ethanol plant Oct. 30.The facility slated for construction at the
Hensall District Co-op in 2008 is expected to bring many opportunities to the

Victory lap —Wendi Schwindt, Ruth Nicholls and Susan Mayers were the banner
holders for the first lap of this year's Relay for Life at South Huron District High
School over the June 9-1 1 weekend which raised over $45,000.The relay saw 32
teams take part with 336 participants.The top fundraisers were 'Team Arctic Cat

Awareness meeting — The ARC Advocates held a community meeting Aug. 24
at the Connect Centre at South Huron Hospital.They are a group of self -advo-
cates educating South Huron on ability awareness.Above front from left are com-

Over 200 attend — The Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority (ABCA) held
its 60th Anniversary celebration July 30, bringing out many familiar faces including,
above from left Lucan Biddulph Mayor Tom McLaughlin, South Huron Mayor and
Huron CountyWarden Rob Morley and Bluewater Mayor Bill Dowson. Over 230
people attended the event which began with activities at the Morrison Dam, fol-

School fundraiser — South Huron District High School student Lindsay Allen
was wrapped up in her charity work April 12 in front of SHDHS with some help
from brother Kenny and Vicki Hartman.Allen ended up wrapped to the tree after
beating her goal of raising $50 for the Heart and Stroke Hoops for Heart at the
