meeting.
Mayor Tom McLaughlin began
by "welcoming and congratulating
Alex on his election victory."
He also reiterated to council,
goals made in 2003 that have
been reached or are well on their
way, including managing tax
increase, bringing developers to
the area, supporting the Lucan
and Area Heritage Committee and
more.
McLaughlin encouraged the
new council to continue on,
obtaining new accomplishments.
Some new goals for the next
four years are; fiscal manage-
ment, continuing with economic
development, bringing more doc-
tors to the municipality and more.
McLaughlin said these will be
achieved through encouraging
and respecting eachother, as well
as communicating and teamwork.
At the Nov. 30 council meeting,
former Ward 3 Coun. Doug
Anderson was thanked by
McLaughlin and council for his 12
years of service to the community.
"I think you've represented
Ward 3 very well," says
McLaughlin, adding that Anderson
was "totally committed to serving
the community."
Anderson was particularly rec-
ognized for attributing much time
and efforts to the Lake Huron
Water Supply, sewage and the
Granton community, especially
the Granton Park.
"Twelve years, boy that goes by
really fast," says Anderson,
adding that he is very proud of the
accomplishments he has made
over his 12 years on council.
