Exeter Skating Club continues to grow
EXETER — Members of the
Exeter Skating Club have had
excellent results so far this year,
with skaters at all levels bring-
ing home medals from several
different events.
The club has several different
programs starting with the
Canskate "learn to skate" and
"Pre -Power" levels as well as the
Starskate "Learn to Skate " and
competitive skating.
There is also Learn to Skate
synchronized skating and Adult
Masters synchronized skating.
Anyone wishing to join the
club can still register by contact-
ing Deb Oke at 235-2079 or
Kathy McLlwain at 235-4751.
Program Assistants are needed
as well as the club relies on its
junior and senior skaters to
assist in the development of
younger skaters. To arrange for
a training day, contact one of the
club members.
The ESC has tripled its num-
bers of Canskaters this year with
over 65, as well as 18 Junior
skaters, 21 seniors and 40 syn-
chronized skaters.
The club has also had over 77
badges and stages passed by the
Canskaters this year and coach
McElwain said the club is off to a
positive start thanks to a dedi-
cated and committed executive.
Other coaches for the club
include freelance coaches Patty
Dougherty, Jen Overholt and
Jeff Loosley as well as synchro-

skater the opportunity to
achieve their personal best
while enjoying the fun, social

to gain self confidence, sports-
manship and many other life
learning qualities," said
