THAMES ROAD - Marilyn
Vandenbussche the organist played
several tunes on the organ before
the church service commenced.
Rev. judith Ritchie was in charge of
the Reign of Christ Sunday service
and she lit the Christ candle, and
gave words of welcome. Everyone
shook hands. The Introit Rejoice In
The Lord Always was sung.
The opening hymn Praise the Lord
With the Sound of Trumpet was
sung. Rev. Judith read the
announcements and lit the red can-
dle for Peace, and the Old Testament
Reading. 2 Samuel
23: 1-7. The hymn
Come Children Join
to Sing was sung.
Part two of Psalm 132 was read
responsively. The choir sang His
Love comes Shining Through accom-
panied by the pianist Marilyn
Vandenbussche. The Gospel lesson
John 18:33-38 was read by Fred
Delbridge.
The title of Rev. Judith's message
was "Truth or Dare."
The hymn Eternal Unchanging, We
Sing was sung and Affirmation of
Our Faith "A New Creed" was read
in unison. Dennis and Sandra Rowe
received the offering.
Rev. Judith gave prayers for the
people. The closing hymn Jesus,
Teacher, Brave and Bold was sung.
Rev. Judith gave the commissioning
and pronounced the benediction.
Everyone sang the choral benedic-
tion.

the service there will be a free will
hot dog lunch hosted by the
Christian Education Committee with
the money being donated to the M&
S Fund and after families will be
able to make an Advent wreath.
Rev. Judith is looking for decora-
tions for the advent wreaths (eg.
small Christmas ba is, tiny gift boxes
such as ones used in corsages,
greenery, etc.)
Dec. 24 Family Christmas Eve
Candlelight Communion Sunday at
7:30 p.m. All God's children are
welcome at this special service. Rev.
Judith and numerous helpers are
planning a Communion service with
a tableau of the
Christmas Story
instead of a medita-
tion. Although we plan to use real
candles with holders at the close of
the service, there will be glow sticks
for the children.
Beware!! Rev. Judith is on the
lookout for shepherds, angels and
wisefolks - of all ages and both gen-
ders. She is really praying/hoping
for volunteers. Extended family
home for the holidays are welcome
to participate.
The Committee of the local United
Churches will be having a joint ser-
vice on Sun., Dec. 31 at 11 a.m. in
the small gym at South huron High
School. There will be a New Year
celebration at noon. Praise Band of
Jesus Christ from Acton will be join-
ing the service.
UCW
The December meeting of the UCW
will be held on Tuesday evening Dec.
12 at 8 p.m. in the church basement.
The theme for the meeting is
Christmas. Program: Diane Jeffery,
Nancy Smith,. Anne Bray, Ola
Batten; Roll Call: Your family's
favourite Christmas food or treats.
Gift Exchange: Secret pal gift
(approx. $5 or exchange a gift in the
amount of a loonie) Lunch:

Personals
Over 300 people attended the
Bethlehem Walk at Kirkton
Woodham community Centre on
Friday evening. It was a very mean-
ingful evening.
About 60 people attended the sup-
per at the church on Sunday evening
catered by the finance committee
and also the silent auction sponsored
by the Christian Education commit-
tee. It was a very successful
evening.
