Supersport Award: Lucas Bowers Comments: South Huron started strong get- ting the first goal of the game. Strathroy reacted to this goal by scoring the next four goals. The South Huron Tyke team regrouped and took con- trol of the game. Superb goaltending by Joel Denotter kept a lid on the Strathroy efforts. Solid defense and high speed back checking kept the play out of our end for most of the third period. Teamwork and tremen- dous effort from every player on the team allowed South Huron to come back and tie the game from a three goal deficit. Way to go team! Tyke Black Nov. SH 6 @ Merton 4 Goals: Michael Boyle (2), Samantha Andrews, James Boyle, Cameron Hanson, Carter Mcllwain Assists: Michael Boyle First win of the season on the road in Ilderton. Hard work paid off with first ever goals by Samantha Andrews and James Boyle, who received an assist from brother Michael. Chad Crawford played a strong game in net and all play- ers helped with Tyke Black's first win. Novice Black Nov. 18 SH 1 versus Strathroy White 5 Goal: Patrick Medd Goalie: Brandon Vanneste Comments: A closer game than the score. Good effort everyone. Congratulations to David Noel for winning the Super Sport Award! Novice Rep Oct. 28 SH 3 versus Lucan 2 Goals: Chad Dawson, Kyle Jones, Justin McCarter Assists: Kyle Jones, Justin McCarter Strong team effort by the Sabres. Outstanding defensive play by Jared Den Otter holding the blueline for the Sabres. Great passing by Nathan McDonald creating some key scoring opportunities. Drew Horner worked hard forechecking and forced some turnovers. Great win, lots of fun, good work Sabres. Nov. 13 SH 4 versus Port Stanley 3 Goals: Kyle Jones, Justin McCarter, Nate McDonald (2) Assists: Jon Baker, Jacob Hrudka Justin McCarter Comments: Another slow start for the Sabres but persistence paid off in the third period as they came back from a 3-1 deficit and scored three times led by Kyle Jones, Nate McDonald and Justin McCarter. Also strong goaltending by Owen Kuranyi and great effort by the whole team. Nov. 18 SH 6 versus St. Marys 2 exhibition Goals: Jon Baker (2), Kyle Jones, Justin McCarter (2), Nate McDonald Assists: Jared Denotter, Jacob Hrudka, Justin McCarter, Nate McDonald (2), Bradley Regier Comments: The boys are really starting to play well together with some strong forechecking, great passing and solid defense.
