Municipality of South Huron
322 Main St., P.O. Box 759, Exeter, Ontario, NOM 1S6
(519) 235-0310 ext.234
Purpose and Effect:
The Municipality of South Huron has made an application to correct a mapping
error in the South Huron Official Plan. The Municipality of South Huron has
identified that there is an area of Exeter that is currently designated Highway
Commercial that should be designated Industrial. This error was present in
the former Town of Exeter Official Plan and was carried over into the South
Huron Official Plan that was approved in 2003.
This Official Plan amendment affects multiple properties in the north east part
of Exeter. The affected area is bounded by Francis Street to the east, the town
limit of Exeter to the west, the Ausable River to the south and the town limit of
Exeter to the north. The affected area is illustrated in the attached map.
The South Huron Official Plan currently designates this area as Highway
Commercial. The original Town of Exeter Official Plan designated this area as
Industrial and the majority of the properties in the affected area are zoned
Industrial in the Town of Exeter Zoning By-law.
No development is proposed as part of this Official Plan Amendment.
This by-law amends the Municipality of South Huron Official Plan. Maps
showing the location of the lands are attached. More detailed maps are avail-
able for viewing at the South Huron Municipal Office.
