Jets over Sherwoods in overtime ZURICH BOWLING
By Pat Bolen
TIMES -ADVOCATE STAFF
HENSALL - A last
minute shorthanded goal
by Hensall Sherwood J.R.
Davies was enough to
force overtime against the
Lucan-Ilderton Nov. 11 in
Hensall, but the Jets came
away with a 6-5 overtime
win on Todd Hunt's third
goal of the game.
The Sherwoods were
coming off a 3-2 loss in
Wingham Nov. 10.
Jets general manager
said despite the win the
team has to become more
disciplined and come
ready to play every night,
as the Jets were behind
again in the first period.
Nick Regier had two in
the first period and Chris
Kennedy added one as the
Sherwoods built a 3-2
lead, with Todd Hunt and
Jason Wilson replying for
the Jets.
Lucan-Ilderton changed
goalies after the first peri-
od with Marc Williams
replacing Dave Riddell but
the Jets were still down 4-
3 after two periods, with
Jeremy Geoffrey notching
the Sherwood's fourth goal
and Brad Yeo scoring for
the Jets.
In the third period the
Jets fired a pair of goals
from Hunt and Yeo to take
a 5-4 lead, but with Lucan-

Ilderton on a man -advan-
tage in the final minutes,
Davies tied it to send the
game to overtime.
The Jets took the extra
point with Hunt complet-
ing his hat trick at 1:20
into the extra point.
Lucan has one game this
weekend, when they visit
Thedford Nov. 18 at 7:30
p.m. The Jets game
against Tavistock sched-
uled for Nov. 19 at 1:30
p.m. has been postponed
due to ice scheduling com-
mitments.
The Jets will be in
Ilderton Nov. 25 for their
game against Wingham
which will be Ilderton
Minor Hockey night at the
arena. "Last year's game
in llderton was a big suc-
cess...some of the guys
that played their minor
hockey in Ilderton can
come back and lace up in
front of their home town
again," said Andrews.
Although Thedford has
yet to win this season, the
Dirty Dogs picked up their
first point on the weekend.
"I can guarantee you,
they'll be hungry," said
Andrews. "Our guys will
have to be ready to play,
we don't want to be their
first."
The Sherwoods have
only one game this week-
end, when they travel to
Milverton Nov. 18 for an
8:30 p.m. game.
