Afterwards several family members and relatives from various places enjoyed sup- per at the Lutheran Church fellowship hall. The residents' Christmas family dinner will be held this Sun., Nov. 12 with entertainment starting in the lounge at 2 p.m. and setting for supper at 4 p.m. On Wed., Nov. 8 Grace, Dwayne and Irvin Martin will entertain at 6:30 p.m. Several residents enjoy going for walks on Friday mornings at Huron Ridge Green House. Harvey and Friends will be there to play music on Wed., Nov. 15 at 6:30 p.m. The monthly birthday party for the residents is on Fri., Nov. 17 at 2:30 p.m. hosted by the Grand Bend Women's Institute. Congratulations to Tony and Theresa Kester on the occasion of their 25th Wedding Anniversary on Nov. 6. Relatives and friends helped them to celebrate last Saturday with supper and a party at the Legion in Exeter. Right to Life Membership dues are now being collected at St. Boniface Parish for $10 per family. If you have missed getting yours, call Carol Prang at 519-236-4661 as soon as possible. Doug and Julie Debus spent Sat. and Sun. in Windsor visiting relatives. Parish Bazaar Immaculate Heart of Mary C.W. Parish Bazaar will be held this Sat., Nov. 11 in Grand Bend from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in their Parish Hall. Everyone is invited to attend. Do you have your ticket for the Fall supper on Sat., Nov. 18 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church Hall. This Sun., Nov. 12 is the Christmas Open House at the stores in Zurich from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Congratulations go out to Edgar and Ann Steinbach who celebrated their 45th Wedding Anniversary recent- ly on Oct. 27. The November meeting for St. Peter's E.L.W. will be on Tues., Nov. 14 with the topic "The Importance of Clean Water." Both men and women are invited to this meeting. Sylvia Mittleholtz recently spent a few days in Oakville visiting with relatives and helping out her nephew and family (Stephen Merner) due to recuperation from a hospital stay. Stone Meadows The new subdivision in Zurich called "Stone Meadows" is really nice and all ready. Three of the con- dos are occupied by: Cleve and Margaret Gingerich, Betty Oke, and Mary-Eleen Gingerich. Personals Fred Denomme of Calgary along with his daughter Anna and her boyfriend recently visited for a week with his mother Josephine Denomme at the Maple Woods Apartments. Howard and Elaine Daters recently spent a week at a cottage near Orillia at Port Stanton. The Zurich Cubs and Scouts have been busy at their weekly meetings. On Oct. 30 they had a Hallowe'en party together along with the Beavers at the Lutheran Church hall. Recently they went to the Corn Maize near Grand Bend and attend- ed the Remembrance Day Service in Bayfield and Hensall. A Buck and Doe was held for Craig Overholt and Melissa Hall on Fri., Nov. 3 at the Complex in Zurich which had a Jamaican Theme. Craig is the son of Ron and Marje Overholt R. R #2, Zurich. The couple are planning to be married in January 2007. Congratulations to Joyce Rau and Kevin Cole who were married recently on Oct. 21 in Tillsonburg. Joyce is the daughter of Darryl and Tillie Rau of Zurich. The next Men's Breakfast is on Sat., Nov. 11 at Erb's Country Kitchen at 8:30 a.m. with Bob Sharen speaking. I'm sure Tootie Merner (Elizabeth) will be greatly missed by her co-workers at the LakeShore Advance newspaper office in Grand Bend as she has retired now after being in the business for about 20 years. She had typed a lot of my news columns every week for ages. We started off at Herb Turkheim's Zurich Harold many years ago. Tootie was always there when I needed her help, even bringing my cheques to me every month! Skating Club The BlueWater Zurich Skating Club is going strong with lessons taking place at the complex every Tuesday evening from 6 - 8 p.m. and Saturday mornings from 10 a.m. - noon. The coach is Patty Dougherty and free- lance - Kathy McLlwain. All ages are still welcome to come out the arena on skating days to watch or to join in. For more information call president Heather Klopp or Lea Paulger 519-236-7845. Due to a hockey tourna- ment on Sat., Nov. 11 there will be no skating lessons that day. The last 150th Anniversary Committee meeting was held on Nov. 2 at the church hall. The special edition Anniversary Book is still available at various stores around town for only $10 and will make a great Christmas gift! A report on the Fashion Show was given by Marg Deichert which was a great success. The dvd's of the Fashion Show should be ready soon. Plans for the upcoming Christmas parade hi Zurich on Sun., Dec. 3 are well underway at 6 p.m. The parade will be followed by a visit from Santa at the complex for the kids to get some candy. Anyone wishing to be in the parade can call Vicki Wilder to register at 519-263-5343. Be sure to spend New Year's Eve Dec. 31 at the com- plex as a big dance is being planned along with the draws from tickets being sold on our three great prizes (tickets are still on sale at various businesses). The closing ceremonies for our Sesquicentennial Year will take place on New Year's Eve at this event, so mark it down and plan to attend. More information will fol- low. The Golden Agers meeting will be held on Mon., Nov. 13 at the Town Hall at noon for the winter months. Bring along a sandwich for your lunch and dessert and coffee will be provided by the committee in charge. Everyone is welcome. Bus Trip Six members of the Smith Family along with their spouses recently traveled to the Smokey Mountains in Kentucky and Tennessee. Leo and Mary, George and Cleo, Raymond and Mary, Catherine, Ed and Dorothy, Gord a Cecilia, Marg and Jim Kendall all travelled with Elison Travel Exeter. While there they attended the Comedy Barn Theatre, Smith Family Theater and sever- al others. Also went to Dolywood and the Aviation Museum and Kentucky Horse Park where they saw Bob Hamather's horse "Staying Together". The drive through the Cumberland Gap was spectacular.
