OPP officer recovering
LUCAN BIDDULPH — Huron OPP Const. Jeff
Walraven is recovering at home, according to the
Huron OPP after a three -vehicle collision on Main
Street at the north end of Lucan
Oct. 24.
A Ford Taurus was southbound
on Richmond Street entering the
construction zone in Lucan. A VW
Jetta was following the Taurus.
The roadway changes from pave-
ment to gravel due to the con-
struction. Both vehicles
decreased their speed.
A marked OPP van was also
southbound. The OPP vehicle
then collided with the Jetta which
collided with the rear of the
Taurus.
The driver of the Taurus, 39 -
year -old Gerald Cunningham of
Lucan was uninjured.
The driver of the Jetta, 46 -year-
old Alison Connolly of Kippen
sustained minor injuries.
Huron OPP Const. Jeff Walraven
was taken to London Health
Sciences Centre Victoria Hospital
in serious condition.
OPP Technical Traffic Collision
Investigators attended the scene.
It was unknown if charges will
be laid as the T -A was going to
print.
