Total receipts 3,223 head of cattle, 713 lambs and goats. Summary Tuesday: The fed steers and heifers sold $2 lower. The choice steers and heifers sold 90 to 93 with sales to 115. Second -cut sold 85-90 with the cows selling $2 higher. Thursday: The veal sold on a good strong market. Sheep, lambs, and goats sold on a steady market. Strahl extended an invitation to Gordeyev to visit Canada, discussing areas of co-operation in livestock development between Russia and Canada. Before the detection of Canada's first case of Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy (BSE) in May 2003, Russian imports of Canadian breeding cattle and beef were more than $4 million.
