Jets blanked by Radars By Pat Bolen TIMES -ADVOCATE STAFF LUCAN — The Lucan Ilderton Jets played what general manager Rob Andrews described as one of their worst games in three years in a 5-0 loss to Clinton Oct. 21 in Lucan but Andrews said the Jets are off to a good start with a 3-1-0 record. "If we win four of the six each month we'll be in the top four." The Radars were ahead 3-0 after the first period and cruised to the win as Andrews said the Jets just weren't ready to play. Four of the Clinton goals came with the man -advan- tage and the fifth was shorthanded said Andrews. After a loss for Clinton the previous night against Monkton, Andrews said the Radars came ready to play against the Jets. "Our guys were just standing still most of the night," said Andrews who added the team took a lot of penalties. "The new rules...the guys have to buy into this soon or we're going to be like this every night. It's tough to get a flow of the game going when you're in the penalty box." Andrews said the enforcement of the new rules has been inconsis- tent from one referee to another so far this season. "Guys are timid because they don't know what is going to be called." One of the surprises this season said Andrews is Goderich who the Jets will see for the first time this weekend. The Pirates are in first place with only one loss and the Jets will be in Goderich Friday night at 8:30 p.m. before the Pirates pay a visit to Lucan Sunday afternoon at 1:45 p.m. for a makeup game. With several teams showing improvement this year, Andrews said every game will be important for the Jets. "At the end of this week- end, we should have a bet- ter taste of what is hap- pening."
