Total receipts 3323 head of cattle, 702 lambs and goats. Summary Tuesday: The fed steers and heifers sold on a steady market. The choice steers and heifers sold 88-90 with the cows selling on a strong active trade. Thursday: Veal sold on a strong market with sales $5 higher. Sheep sold on a strong active trade. Light lambs sold on a strong market while the heavy lambs sold steady. Goats sold on a steady market. Friday: Calves and yearlings sold on a steady trade. Steers There were 518 steers on offer. The HPSWA is a non-profit organization promoting communication and foster learn- ing and sharing personal farm growth of farm women and their families. The HPWSA hosts meetings every last Thursday of the month until April and excluding December. On Oct. 26 a session on 'How to heal your body the natural way' is scheduled with speaker Rheannon Reis of Nature's Secret, Holistic Centre in London. `Making Christmas decorations' with Frieda Kappers and Grietje Schwering is Nov. 23. In January Allison Lobb from the Huron Business Development Corporation will speak on setting up a business. 'What does a school board do?' is the topic of discussion in February with Janet Baird - Jackson of the Avon Maitland District School Board. An all day workshop is scheduled for March. In the morning Del Gingrich from the Mennonite Visitor Centre in St. Jacob's will talk about mennonite history. In the after- noon the group will make their own Easter decoration with Schwering, Marian van Stee and Linda Glijnis April 26 is the annual meeting, with a pre- sentation on 'Who needs a vacation - Give yourself a break,' by Dr. Ken Schonk from Kitchener who will teach the group every- thing they need to know about humour. The meetings are held at the Mitchell Legion, beginning at 8 p.m. TIMES -ADVOCATE l-� 4 i ►���Y► -g Denfield Livestock Sales For Tues., Sept, 28 the mar- ket at Denfield Livestock Sales traded on a good demand at steady prices on all classes of fed cattle with fancy cattle sell- ing at premium prices. Good quality cows sold actively at stronger prices. Veal sold stronger, sows and boars were steady. Bill and Mary Margaret McDonald, Thamesville sold 8 steers avg. wt. 1428 avg. price 79.74 to a high of 83.25 pur- chased by Norwich Packers. Stan Erickson, Thamesville sold 8 steers avg. wt. 1298 avg. price 78.89 to a high of 85 pur- chased by Norval Meats. John McLinchey, Parkhill sold 28 steers avg. wt. 1418 avg. price 78.07. POLICE BRIEFS Bayfield residence gets spray painted BAYFIELD - Sometime between Oct. 14 and Oct. 15 vandals attended a residence on Troy Street in Bayfield spray painting and covering a four foot exterior section of the residence. Exeter man held for bail in Seaforth SEAFORTH - On Oct. 16 Huron OPP were patrolling Huron Road just west of Seaforth. The offi- cers observed a 2003 Hyundai traveling east at a high rate of speed. The vehicle was locked in radar at 153 km/h in a posted 80km zone. The vehicle was stopped and the driver was found to have been drinking. The driver was issued a lawful roadside demand and pro- vided a breath sample. After registering a fail, the dri- ver was arrested for driving a motor vehicle with more than 80mg of alcohol. The driver was transport- ed to the Huron detachment while enroute he provid- ed two breath samples and the results were greater then the legal limit of 80mg of alcohol. While in the vehicle the male started kicking the police cruiser windows. A 26 -year-old man of Exeter was held for a bail hearing in Goderich Provincial Court Oct. 17, fac- ing one count of driving a motor vehicle with more than 80 mg of alcohol, one count of breach of proba- tion, one count of mischief under $5000 and one count of possession of schedule II cannabis Marijuana.
