UCW catering Christmas banquet
THAMES ROAD - The October
meeting of the U.C.W. was held
Tuesday evening in the church
basement with 30 ladies and one
guest present. The meeting table
had the autographed cloth on it
with fancy candles, ribbons and
decorations.
Sandra Rowe welcomed every-
one and gave two readings:
"Leaves" and "Welcoming the
Fall." Melonie Miller read the
scripture Psalm 100. The ladies
sang the hymn For the Fruit of all
Creation with Agnes Bray as
piano accompanist
Marion Cann gave a reading
"Thankful to God for Everything."
Agnes Bray and Marion Cann
received the offering with prayer
by Melonie Miller. The ladies
sang (for the young at heart) Can
a Little Child Like Me?
Sandra Rowe gave an interest-
ing reading and introduced the
guest speaker Karen Richards of
Lucan who spoke on
"Scrapbooking" and showed us
how to do it, which was very
interesting.
Melonie Miller thanked Karen
and presented her with a lovely
gift. Carolyn Johns our presi-
dent welcomed everyone and
wished everyone a Happy
Thanksgiving. U.C.W. pur-
pose was repeated in uni-
son. Marilyn Pym took the
roll call which was
answered by a helpful
household hint. The minutes
were read and adopted.
