Veal sells $2-3 higher at Brussels Livestock Market
Brussels Livestock Market Report for the week ending
Aug. 26.
Total receipts
2,983 head of cattle, 653 lambs and goats.
Summary
Tuesday: The fed steers and heifers sold under pres-
sure. The choice steers and heifers sold 91-95 with
sales to 99.25. Second cut sold 88-91 with the cows sell-
ing on a steady active market. Thursday: The veal sold
$2-3 higher. Lambs and sheep sold on a steady market.
Friday: Calves and yearlings sold on a steady market.
Steers
There were 478 steers on offer.
Emerson L. Martin of Linwood, consigned 10 steers aver-
aging 1435 lbs, selling for an average of 90.88. With one
limo steer weighing 1465 lbs, selling for 99.25.
Shirmac Farms Ltd. of Granton, consigned one blk steer
weighing 1295 lbs, selling for 98.25.
Scott Geisel of West Montrose, consigned 16 steers aver-
