EXETER — An open
house recently com-
memorated the begin-
ning of a new era for
Gary Bean Securities in
Exeter.
On Sept. 14 the
Exeter and area com-
munity gathered at the
newly built stone build-
ing on Main Street to
see for themselves just
how many changes
have been made since
1972 when Gary Bean
first started working in
the securities industry.
Over the years Bean
has watched the indus-
try change rapidly as he
has had several posi-
tions throughout the
field from working for
national firms to open-
ing his own indepen-
dent securities firm in
1994.
The new facility, with
the help of several local
companies has been in
the works for about five
years with the business
relocating from a small-
er office to the new

building in April.
There has also been
upgrades to the com-
puter systems and soft-
ware to better track any
changes to client
accounts.
Bean says gradually
the business has
evolved, from making
individual trades for
clients to advising
clients as to what they
should do with their
money.
"Every person is a bit
different. Everybody's
unique," says Bean.
"Person to person you
have to know your
clients and work to
understand them," says
Bean.
Bean says the grow-
ing business aims to
further increase their
service and although
having a firm like his in
Exeter is unusual it
does have its advan-
tages, including the
capability to provide
more one-on-one time
with customers, ensur-
ing they know each cus-
tomer on a personal
level.
Bean also says the
new location will allow
his team of experts to
grow.
"There's room to add
more staff, which we're
doing," says Bean.
He also says with the
progression and expan-
sion of the business he
is "always looking for
the next challenge."
And when asked what
that next challenge is,
Bean says although he
does have a future pro-
ject planned he's "not
sure he wants to talk
about it."
