S.H.H. to launch electronic program
South Huron Hospital (SHH) will launch an Electronic Patient Record program, benefiting
both hospital patients and staff members. Electronic Patient Record Thames Valley cerner
engagement leader Patti Marshall held a presentation Aug. 22 at SHH, informing hospital
staff of the program. It is designed to electronically keep patient records, allowing for easier
and more timely access to records between different hospitals while eliminating as much
paper as possible. S.H.H. is hoping to launch this new program by the end of January but is
in the midst of planning the project.Above from left are clinical resource nurse and clinical
lead Brenda Palsa, subject matter expert for registration and scheduling Lynn Tordoff, emer-
gency nurse and integration architect Sheona Baker and lab manager and lab integration
lead Connie Thompson. (photo/Nina Van Lieshout)

There are already many self-diagnostic tools available for home
use. One home test being worked on right now is one to test for
sexually -transmitted diseases. (STDs). Although it probably won't be
available for ten years or so, it will save the health system many
millions of dollars.

smoked. Out of all the provinces, B.C. had the fewest smokers with
just 16per cent of adult B.C. residents smoking.
