SANDERS - Irene A.M. Sanders
(nee Kydd) died suddenly at her
home in Regina on Thursday,
Aug. 17/2006 in her 85th year.
She was the cherished Mother of
Margaret Dodson (Martin) and
Donna Sanders of Regina, loving
grandmother of six grandchildren
and great-grandmother of one
great-grandson, dearly loved sis-
ter and sister-in-law of Ethel &
Murray Marsh of London,
Dorothy & Tony Moffatt of
Exeter, Ruth Kydd of London
and Peggy Sanders of Sioux
Lookout, Ont. Several nieces
and nephews also survive. Irene
was predeceased by her only
brother Bob in 1988 and by her
husband J. Peter Sanders in
1992. The funeral was conduct-
ed on August 20, 2006 with bur-
ial in Weybum, Sa. (34*)

LAVENDER, WILLIAM J.
(BILL), P.ENG. - Bill was a lov-
ing, caring husband, father,
grandfather, brother, brother-in-
law, uncle and inspirational
friend to the very many whose
lives he touched. He was an
accomplished chemical engineer
who successfully managed
multi-million dollar projects
including hospitals, gold mines
and oil sands. He enjoyed being
a leader, inventor, astronomer
and farmer. His brave struggle
with cancer ended with his loved
ones present on August 10, 2006
at Grey Bruce Health Services,
Markdale at the age of 67. Bill
will now be joined with his
beloved Tabby cat who visited
him frequently during his illness.
Loving husband of June, cher-
ished stepfather to David and
Susan and devoted grandfather to
Amy. He is also survived by his
children, Carol -Anne, Jay,
Keny-Jo and 6 grandchildren of
Alberta. Dear brother and broth-
er-in-law of Jack and Joyce of
Hensall, Jean Turner of London,
twin brother of Tom and Mabel
of Priceville, Roma and Don
Ovington of Markdale and had
several nieces and nephews. Bill
was predeceased by his parents
Tom and Greta Lavender.
Visitation took place at the May
Funeral Home, Markdale. A cel-
ebration of Bill's life was held at
the Annesley United Church,
Markdale, August 14, 2006.
Bill's close friend, Chris Landry
conducted the service.
Reception followed at Annesley
United Church Fellowship Hall.
If desired, donations to the
Centre Grey Health Services
Foundation, Digital X -Ray
System, in memory of Bill,
would be very much appreciated

1934 - 2006 - Maurice Hugh
Love of Calgary passed away
suddenly at Peter Lougheed
Hospital on Monday, August 7,
2006 in his 73rd year. Beloved
husband of Jean (Reith), dear
father of Sheri, Karyn, Bryan and
his fiance Carolyn, all of
Calgary; cherished brother of
Arlene (Mrs. Peter Ravelle),
Kincardine, ON. and treasured
uncle to nine nieces and nephews
and six great-nieces and
nephews. A Memorial will be
held at Exeter United Church (42
James St.) on Saturday, August
26, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. for burial

all my families, friends and
neighbours for the many phone
calls, cards, flowers and prayers
during the past couple months. I
really appreciated the wonderful
care I received from the doctors
and nurses at University Hospital
and St. Marys Memorial and
since returning home. Again

BELL - I would like to thank the
Eastern Star gals for my surprise
birthday party. When I opened
the door they were coming up
the walk carrying Birthday bal-
loons, flowers, best wishes and a
big birthday cake. "What a sur-
prise". We spent the afternoon
reminising, going through pic-
tures of the past. Later we all
gathered around the table for
birthday cake, ice cream and
cookies. A day I will always
