For those of you that have access to the Internet, you can find this site at www.pandemicinfluenza.gc.ca. It's chock-full of factual information about flu all over the world. It has good information for travelers too. A study was done in approximately 200 people who were asked to describe the attributes of the ideal doctor. The seven top adjectives were: humane, respectful, empathetic, personal, forthright, confident and thorough. A good feeling about your doctor does help your overall physical and emotional health. A study of 15,000 people )age 40-701 in England and the U.S. found that diabetes was twice as high in the U.S. than in England. Also, heart disease and high blood pressure were more common in the U.S. This has a lot to do with body weight. Keeping your weight down to normal will decrease health risks. Every year throughout the world, 50 billion tablets of A.S.A. (Aspirin) are swallowed. It is used as an anti-inflammatory drug, pain and fever reliever although acetaminophen is used more for fever reduction. A.S.A.'s main use is to help keep the platelets in the blood from sticking together. Even though A.S.A is available without a prescription, talk to your doctor first before using. Always get professional advise when taking any new medication. Even though A.S.A. has been around for over 100 years, it can cause problems. Before you take it, talk about it. ,iilfl Huron Apothecary Ltd. Phone 235-1982, 440 Main St. Exeter PHARM ASSIST "YOUR HEALTH CARE PHARMACY
