(photo/Pat Bolen) Volunteers still needed for business study EXETER — Volunteers are still needed to sit on a task force for the `Business Retention and Expansion Program.' The year-long program will see various local businesses take part in a 37 -page survey indicating what problems, needs and issues local busi- nesses face. The task force will respond to the needs and concerns the businesses express. Hugh McMaster of the South Huron Chamber of Commerce is looking for vol- unteers from four sectors of the local economy: industry, retail, agriculture and tourism. Volunteers should be pre- pared to work 10 hours a month on the project. Ken Elder was the greeter. Les Hills was the minister and wel- comed everyone, followed by the passing of the peace. Jayne Fragiskatos read the scripture lesson. "Food For The Journey" was the topic for the ser- mon. The Lord's Prayer was repeated in unison. Several hymns were sung. The offering was received and dedicated. Flowers in the sanctuary were in memory of Doug Mann. The service closed with commissioning, benedic- tion, and choral amen. POLICE BRIEF Theft from truck costs farmer $1,200 SOUTH HURON — Sometime during the night of Aug. 13 thieves attended a residence on Whalen Line in South Huron, stealing a net wrap. The victim's truck was parked when five rolls of net wrap for bail- ing hay was stolen out of the back of the pick-up. The loss to the farmer is estimated at $1,200.00. We're abuzz.. .
