The Fury gave up two quick goals after starting the game three men down, due to late arriving players and the lack of a proper warm-up. At the 20 -minute mark the Fury came to life when Justin Muller placed a well struck shot from just inside the penalty area. The Wallaceburg keeper was fooled on the bounce and the Fury cut the lead in half. After the goal the Fury began to control the game, pushing the ball around the Wallaceburg team. However the determined Exeter team continued to pressure the Wallaceburg defense until finally Tom Phouttharath was sent in on a through -ball from Matt Prout. Phouttharath beat two defenders and lofted the ball into the corner to make the score 3-2 at the half. The Fury started the sec- ond held with high intensi- ty which unfortunately left the Fury a man down after Prout was ejected following his second book- ing. The Fury defense absorbed the Wallaceburg attack which allowed the offense a chance to even the score. Exeter defender Craig Hern made several timely tackles in the back but Wallaceburg finally caught Exeter pushing forward and put a final goal in dur- ing the last couple of min- utes to make the final score 4-2. "We played a decent game considering the cir- cumstances being a man down on the road with a short bench," said coach Andrew Prout.
