The team qualified for the cham- pionship by winning the Ontario Senior Men's Triples Championship in Woodstock, Aug.1-2. In the double knockout tourna- ment, the Exeter team, represent- ing District 4 lost their first match to Woodstock Aug. 1. But the team rebounded to defeat Ottawa and Belleville before defeat- ing Oshawa, London and Windsor Aug. 2 to advance to the Canadian championship. McFalls said there was "blistering heat," the first day of the tourna- ment but the team endured it until Wednesday cooled off. It will be the first time at the Canadian championships for the Exeter team but McFalls said they have as good a chance as any of the teams. Exeter lawn bowling skip Peter McFalls along with vice Colin McLuckie, and lead, Bruce Marshall will be com- peting at the Canadian Senior Triples Championships Aug. 25-29 in Winnipeg after qualifying at the Ontario Senior Men's Triples Championship in Woodstock, Aug. I -2. I was glad to see Dominique Baker and Madison Livermore back playing. Austin Glavin had some great plays and played with a lot of effort. Ended the year with a record of 9-1-2. Great year team, hope to see you back next year! U9 U9 Green Aug 10 Green 2-1 win Goals: Two goals scored by Bradley Regier, with assists from Ray Delbridge, Stacey Willert, Leah Sterczer, and John Hartman. Goalkeepers: Excellent saves made by Sam McEwan, Nicole Millar, Ray Delbridge, and Stacey Willert Play of the game: Solid defensive moves by Zoe Bilcke, Nicole Millar and Terry Hartman kept the other team away from our net. With Ray Delbridge's and Stacey Willert's strong kicks upfield, aggressive forwards Jared Welsh, Sam McEwan, John Hartman, Amber Taylor and Leah Sterczer provided many scoring opportuni- ties. Full team effort in the last minutes of the game resulted in Bradley Regier's tie breaker winning goal. The coaches are very proud of each player's improvement throughout the past few months and have really enjoyed the team spirit.
