EXETER — The Service

(SCCY) in Exeter, Owen
Sound, Collingwood,
Walkerton, Listowel and
Goderich threw on their
tongues and whipped out
their winter coats for odd
jobs during Odd Job Squad
Week (July 17-21).
Each office created a
larger -than -life ther-
mometer in their office
and set the temperature to
Monday's high of 32 C.
With each odd job
received throughout the
week the temperature
decreased by one degree.
By the end of the week the
offices were a frigid -20 C

"The event was a great
success and an excellent
opportunity to promote the
odd job services offered by
the SCCY for local home-
owners, employers and
youth," said Exeter and

The event was held dur-

GRAND BEND - Men
seem to think the beauty
salon is where all the
female news of the area
originates. After watching
"The Foursome" at
Huron Country Playhouse
II, (and discussing it with
an avid Exeter golfer) I
believe the golf links are
where men share all their
family news, life stories,
conquests and of course
discussions about the
opposite sex.
What a wonderful
evening to get rid of your
worries and enjoy some
hilarious entertainment,
especially if you have a
golfer in your family.
Laughs abound as four
old college buddies
reconnect and discuss the
past 15 years over a
game of golf.
Cameron, Rick, Ted and
Donnie meet at their 15 -
year college reunion. This
group of four has taken
different routes in life so
they decide to catch up
on 'old times' over a
game of golf. Through 18
holes of golf, the four-
some boast about their
lives, discuss family life
(or lack of) and by the
end of the game share
their fears and insecuri-
ties.
Artistic director Max
Reimer allows the audi-
ence to relate to the four
friends by seeing their
faults and endearing
qualities.
Rick, played by Richard
Quesnel, comes across as
a 'know it all' who is con-
stantly trying to swindle
anyone (even his old
friends) for a bit of cash.
Cameron, played by Joe
Matheson, is portrayed as
a nostalgic friend who
seems to his friends as
being easily tricked or
conned.
Ted, played by Michael
Peng, has a strong com-
petitive streak but tends
to drown his sorrows and
problems with a can of
beer.
Donnie, played by
Sheldon Davis, is a stead-
fast family man who is
constantly sharing (some-
times unwanted) praise of
his family's achievements
and even downfalls.
Donnie's speech on family
and the importance of his
legacy is awarded by loud
audience applause.
Throughout all 18 holes
of golf, the audience is
held captive with the hon-
esty, unguarded confi-
dences and one-liners
"The Foursome" is a
hilarious and heart-
warming production
which runs for five weeks
until Aug. 20
Warm, witty and wise,
this winning comedy is a
hole -in -one for both men
and women.
