Do you remember when the fair was held in late September? Do you remember when the fair- grounds were at the site of the Bluewater Complex? Do you remember the tin two story building that faced the highway where the inside exhibits were on display with vegetables, fruits and flowers on the ground floor and the bak- ing, canning and needle- work exhibits on the sec- ond floor? Do you remember the children dressed in costumes from the Zurich Public School and from the rural schools in Hay Township marched in the parade? Habitat selects Wingham family, Hensall site next HENSALL — The board of direc- tors of Habitat for Humanity Huron County has selected the partner family that will buy the house being built in Wingham. A family for the Hensall site will be chosen this summer Terry Taylor, chairperson of the family selection committee and board member, announced that Jacob and Tina Hiebert and their four children will occupy the newest house in Huron County once it is completed. The Hieberts have four children ranging in age from seven to 15 — Anna, Jake, Nancy and Fernando. Taylor stated that, while choosing a family is a difficult and complex process, he is confident the Hiebert family is an excellent partner fami- ly and they will all work hard to not only help build the house, but to keep it spotless. The attention of the family selec- tion committee will now turn to finding a partner family for the house scheduled to be built in Hensall this fall. Taylor would like the process to begin immediately with a target date for the final selection slated for the end of July. Habitat for Humanity Huron County already owns the lot in Hensall, which was deeded to them through a donation from the Kinsmen Club of Hensall and District. New brochures have recently been produced which tar- get prospective families with infor- mation and answers about the fam- ily selection process. These are being distributed in the Hensall and area community. Interested people are urged to contact the local Habitat organiza- tion for more information and details about the selection process and who may qualify. Habitat for Humanity Huron County can be contacted at: P.O. Box 68, Hensall, Ont., NOM 1X0, or a message can be left at our office: 262-5222.
