GRANTON - The annu-
al chicken barbecue host-
ed by Motherwell-
Avonbank Presbyterian
Church was well attended
at the Kirkton-Woodham
Community Centre on
Wednesday, July 5.
The family of Jim and
Willa Harding hosted a
big retirement party at
their home on Saturday,
July 8. It was in honour of
Jim's retirement from
Unifin in London after 42
years. Food, games, fun
and fellowship were
enjoyed by all.
On Sunday July 9, the
Granton -Wesley United
Church service and annu-
al Fishing Derby were
held at Lu Evans fish
pond on Hwy 7. The
lessons were from Mark 6
and 1st Samuel 19. Pastor
Paul Vollick led the ser-
vice and the message was
entitled 'Fish out of
water.' A time of fishing,
fellowship and refresh-
ments followed the ser-
vice.
The Vacation Bible
School will be held at the
church July 17-21, 9 a.m.
- 12 p.m. for ages 5 -12
years.
The Ham and
Strawberry Supper spon-
sored by Holy Trinity
Anglican church at the
Lucan Community Centre
on June 28 was well
attended.

Officers responded to 200
occurrences between
Friday and Monday.
R.I.D.E. programs were

Huron County with 1,200
vehicles checked. Only
one 12 -hour license sus-
pension was issued. Police
responded to a total of 15
motor vehicle collisions
resulting in ten traffic
related charges.
