Keep up the great defence Gold team. U7 Green June 29 Green 2 versus Yellow 1 Goal: James (2) Coaches com- ments: Excellent game by James, Nicole and Zoe. Super defending by Travis and Ron did some excellent kicks. The passing was awesome, keep it up. Purple June 29 Purple 1 versus Blue 0 Goal: Brian Hope Goalies: Good goaltending by Taylor McCann and Mitchell Sutherland. Coaches com- ments: Good passing through out the game. Awesome throw- ins by Nathan. Good defensive playing by Alicia and Jasmine. The Purple Turtles Rule!!! Royal Blue 0 ver- sus Purple 1 Coaches com- ments: Everyone played really well. We almost scored a few times. Great work by Rachel Heywood and Grace Winbow. Some good goal- tending by Adam Doupe, Jacquelyn Hern, Julia Hartman and Nathen King. Nice passing by Justin, Danielle, Niki and Brandan allowing lots of very close shots on net, keep up the good work. Lots of speed put forth by Cullen giving him the opportunity to get in front of the net in an excellent scoring position. Awesome kicks up the field from our defence Jared and Karra. Super playing in the mid field position by Jackson - way to go! Great team effort by all. June 26 Exeter 10 versus Strathroy 0 Game Highlights: Ezra Branderhorst had a huge goal from outside the 18 and Jared Green added three goals to the tally. Also some huge saves from back up goalie Mitch Foxton. Future games: This will be a huge test for the boys. We play a strong West Lorne team at home on July 7th @ 7:15 p.m. Everyone is welcome to come watch the Exeter Lightning hopefully continue their undefeated streak. U18 Girls U18 Girls #2 June 29 Exeter 4 versus Lucan 4 Goals: Keri Reschke Coaches comments: Another excellent game played by Keri. The girls started off strong but couldn't hold down the win in the second half. The girls battle back but couldn't hit the net. Carly Mercer placed first in the 1500 metre, 400 metre and 800 metre where she also set a new record. Her three firsts made her the top senior girl at the meet. The senior boys and senior girls relay teams each placed fourth. Scott Ounsamone placed first in his heat and fourth in the finals while Jessica Hamather placed third in the 200 metre final and fourth in the 400 metre. Sam McCarter placed fifth in the high jump. Both the Intermediate Boys and Girls relay teams placed third. In the junior division, Becca Reid placed third in the 1,500 metre while Taylor Hoffman placed fifth in the 200 metre finals Jacob Deichert placed fourth in both the 100 The Exeter Public track and field team achieved excellent results at a board meet recently. The peewees were well represented with Rachel Anderson placing first in the 800 metre and fifth in the 400 metre. Jordan Pache placed first in the 400 metre and fourth in the long jump while Nadine Anderson placed fourth in the 400 metre and Koleton Wallace placed fifth in the ball throw.
