HomeMy WebLinkAboutThe Times Advocate, 2006-06-21, Page 19Wednesday, June 21, 2006 Exeter Times—Advocate The Latvian tug-of-war team was in Canada for the first time at the International Tug -of -War tournament on Saturday in Grand Bend. hosted by the Bluewater tug-of-war CIub.The Latvians have won multiple national championships and three world championships.The team is front from left, Mareks Stebulis, Raimonds Pulmanis, Maris Boze,Ainars Zablovskis, coach Aivars Dukats, Jurgis Rasa. Back:Aino Goss, Ugis Cavars,Aleksandrs, Salajevs, Karlis Kohs, Janis Kaminski and Edgars Purins. Below, Exeter Public school's tug-of-war team pulled together to place first in the school competition.The second and third place positions were won by the Huron Centennial one one and two teams while fourth place was won by the Triple F team from England and fifth place was won by Stephen Central.The kids and parents had a great time and thank the organizers of the BluewaterTug-of-War Club for their support.
