Zurich's Home Coming Weekend draws large crowd
The Gospel Express from the Zion Lutheran Church in Dashwood took part in
the parade. From left are Pastor and driver John Trembulak and passengers Logan
Brand, Chloe Bannerman, Hannah Trembulak, Brandon King and Charlie Burton.
Walking along side the express are parents Julia Burton and Clancy King.Their
vacation Bible School is July 24-28. Children three and over are welcome.
Many floats from Zurich and area businesses and organizations participated in last
Saturday's Home Coming Parade.Above, Kacey Rothenberg, left, and Maggie Earl

Many bands entertained during "Musical Memories" at the Zurich Complex host-
ed by the Bluewater Community Development Foundation including Joe
Overholt, Marcel Gelinas, Bastid Sonz, Shivers and Pillowheads.Above are the
Rural Roots: from left fiddler Jeff Miller, lead guitarist Doug Oesch, lead guitarist
and singer Martin Gelinas, drummer Harold Matzek, lead guitarist and singer Jim
Otterbein and bassist Dwayne Martin take the stage.
Donkey Baseball was a part of last Saturday's events with the Zurich Fire
Department playing the Dashwood Fire Department.Above, Marty Merner of the
Zurich Fire Department leads one of the donkeys to first base.

The Bluewater Rest
Home held its Bed Races
last Saturday with nine
teams in competition
raising funds for the
"Rest Well" campaign
which is replacing fur-
nishings in the home,
beginning with beds. Left,
the Zurich Fire
Department races with

Jeffrey, Dale Miller, Marty
Merner and Kevin
McKinnon.They won sec-
ond place for the best
decorating.The Sleepers,
consisting of Don
Gingerich and family, won
the race.The Zurich
VarietyVillage Styles was
second. Fantasy Island, a
team from the Bluewater
Rest Home, won best
decorated and the boo-
bie prize went to "Save
the Babe" Zurich Minor
Athletic Association.
Above, Stephanie Gelinas starts off the entertain-
ment at the Zurich Complex. Gelinas played several
songs including"Wild Horses" by The Rolling Stones
and "Hotel California" by the Eagles.
